Hi I’m Kayla and as a licensed therapist, I help adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, OCD, and the lasting effects of past trauma. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, focused on emotional safety, understanding patterns that keep clients stuck, and reducing anxiety-driven behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to learn healthier ways to cope and feel grounded. Each client experience has been different and rewarding. I have played a role in helping my clients feel safe to dive deeper, process painful memories, and let go of thoughts and behaviors that no longer served them.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your history, current concerns, and goals so I can better understand your unique needs. This is also a chance for you to share what’s most important to you and what you hope to get out of therapy. We’ll go over the intake process together, talk about how sessions typically work, and address any questions you might have.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My clients often describe me as warm and authentic. My work is grounded in attachment-based and trauma-informed therapy. This means I help clients explore how past and present relationships shape their emotions, reactions, and sense of self. Together, we slow things down, make sense of overwhelming feelings, and build healthier ways of coping and connecting. I integrate emotion-focused and practical skills-based strategies when helpful, especially for managing anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm. Having experienced the benefits of therapy myself, I understand how important it is to feel supported and understood, and I draw on that perspective to connect with clients in a real and relatable way.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, OCD patterns, or trauma responses. Many of my clients feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of worry or intrusive thoughts, or unsure how to manage intense emotions and relationship stress. I’m a good fit for clients who want a supportive, thoughtful approach that prioritizes emotional safety while working toward meaningful change. This includes individuals who are open to exploring how past experiences and relationship patterns impact their current struggles, and who want to build coping skills at a steady, manageable pace.

My treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

In my work with individuals, I use EFT to help clients better understand and work through their emotions in a safe, supportive way. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or emotional reactions that don’t always make sense. EFT helps us slow these moments down and gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Rather than trying to “get rid of” emotions, we focus on understanding them, where they come from, what they’re signaling, and what you may need in those moments.

Trauma Informed Care

I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, ensuring that sessions are conducted with safety, trust, and empowerment. I recognize the impact of past trauma on current challenges and work to create a supportive environment where clients feel understood and respected as they process and heal. My work is grounded in attachment-based therapy. This means I help clients explore how past and present relationships shape their emotions, reactions, and sense of self. Together, we slow things down, make sense of overwhelming feelings, and build healthier ways of coping and connecting.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I use ERP to help clients break the cycle of fear, avoidance, and compulsive behaviors by gradually facing the thoughts, sensations, and situations that trigger their anxiety. Together, we work toward decreasing engagement in old coping behaviors and building tolerance to uncertainty and distress.
