Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in NJ. I am a South Asian, Muslim therapist who has been practicing for 10 years. I have a diverse background including mental health counseling, forensic psychology, and crisis intervention. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity issues, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care that respects your lived experience and values.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions and focus on getting to know each other and setting the foundation for your therapy journey. I’ll ask about what brings you in, your goals, and any relevant history you feel comfortable sharing. You can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you’re encouraged to speak freely, and we’ll go at your pace. We’ll also discuss how I work, answer any questions you have, and start identifying a tailored plan and what you’d like to focus on moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Sure! Here’s the revised version without the root cause analysis, keeping it warm, unique, and reflective of your strengths: --- One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to hold space for complexity—with steadiness, cultural sensitivity, and a nonjudgmental lens. Whether a client is navigating trauma, self-doubt, or identity-related stress, I bring both warmth and clarity to the process. My background in forensic and crisis settings has taught me how to stay grounded under pressure and connect with clients facing difficult or layered challenges. Together, we work not just to cope—but to understand, heal, and move forward with intention.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to serve adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, and life transitions—especially those impacted by cultural, religious, or systemic pressures. I have also worked with individuals struggling with low self-esteem, and those seeking healthier relationships and dating experiences. I work well with clients who feel stuck between worlds, are managing high expectations, or are processing complex histories. I also support individuals who value a direct, culturally sensitive, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns. I’ve applied CBT in high-risk settings and now adapt it to support clients navigating complex emotions, identity, and culturally influenced stressors.

Forensic Psychology

I bring years of experience in forensic psychology, including work with incarcerated individuals, crisis management, and risk assessment. I support clients involved with the legal system or those processing past legal or institutional experiences. My approach balances clinical care with insight into behavioral accountability, boundaries, and system-related stress—while offering a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed lens.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy allows me to help clients explore how early experiences and cultural narratives shape present-day struggles. My training informs a deeper understanding of behavioral patterns, especially for clients working through intergenerational trauma, shame, or identity conflicts.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients focus on strengths and short-term goals, especially when facing immediate stress, life transitions, or external pressures. This method is helpful for clients balancing cultural expectations while striving for personal growth.

Motivational Interviewing

MI is especially useful when clients feel ambivalent about change—whether due to cultural, legal, or personal reasons. I use it to guide clients in clarifying their own values and making decisions that align with both their goals and identities.
