New to Grow
I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, and stress-related challenges. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their concerns. I believe that mental health care works best when it is personalized. During our work together, I take time to understand each patient’s experiences, goals, and unique circumstances. I use a combination of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, and supportive counseling, along with medication management when appropriate, to help individuals achieve meaningful and sustainable improvements in their mental health. My approach focuses on helping patients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical coping strategies they can use in everyday life. I strive to empower individuals to actively participate in their care and make informed decisions about their treatment. Whether someone is seeking support for long-standing mental health concerns or navigating a difficult life transition, I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can occur.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you in. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, mental health history, and any previous treatments so we can better understand your needs. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and judgment-free. Together we’ll discuss your goals and begin creating a personalized plan that may include therapy strategies, coping tools, and, when appropriate, medication options. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and confident about the next steps in your care.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a safe and supportive space where people feel comfortable being open about what they’re experiencing. I believe that feeling heard and understood is an important first step in the healing process. I also focus on providing practical, personalized care. I take time to understand each person’s story and work collaboratively with them to develop strategies that fit their life and goals. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I’m able to combine therapeutic approaches with medication management when appropriate, allowing me to support patients in a well-rounded and thoughtful way.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help patients develop psychological flexibility and move toward a values-driven life even in the presence of difficult thoughts, trauma, or anxiety. In my practice, ACT is used to help individuals with PTSD, depression, and chronic stress learn how to observe their thoughts without becoming overwhelmed by them. I guide patients through mindfulness-based strategies, values clarification, and committed action so they can reconnect with what matters most while reducing avoidance behaviors that keep them stuck.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles into treatment to help patients recognize the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, CBT techniques are used to help individuals identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build skills for managing anxiety, depression, trauma responses, and stress. I combine CBT strategies with medication management when appropriate to support measurable and sustainable improvement in mental health.
Motivational Interviewing
I utilize Motivational Interviewing to help patients explore ambivalence and build intrinsic motivation for change. This approach is particularly helpful when working with individuals who are struggling with substance use, medication adherence, lifestyle changes, or behavioral health challenges. Through collaborative conversation, reflective listening, and goal-setting, I help patients identify their own reasons for change and develop practical steps that align with their personal goals and readiness.
