(she/her)
I am passionate about providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment to facilitate your healing and growth. I've served clients across settings including outpatient counseling, diagnostics, and school-based mental health/crisis response/risk and threat assessment. I've also volunteered as a mental health professional with the national non-profit, Kesem, serving children through and beyond parental cancer and acted as a team-lead for county level trauma response. It is an honor to be able to meet you where you're at in your mental health journey and use my relational, calm, and empowering approach to help you move toward a better quality of life, improved relationships, and greater insight and self-awareness.
Together, we will create your goals and discuss your hopes for therapy. During your first session, I utilize a semi-structured intake format to gather important background information from all areas of your life, and to make sure we cover current symptoms, stressors, and impacts. I'll individualize your treatment by getting to know you and including you in the planning process.
I'll get to know you holistically rather than only identifying your struggles and symptoms. I believe healing and change requires us to draw on your innate strengths and self-knowledge, a space where you feel truly seen, respected, and capable, and a therapist who is empathetic, attuned, and connected. Former clients have described their experience with me as grounding, comfortable, and validating.
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and embrace diversity in my practice including the spectrums of religion/spirituality, identity, and neurodivergence. I am experienced in work with teens and their families navigating family transitions, changes, and conflict as well as with young adults navigating relationship concerns, life transitions, and identity development. I am passionate about working with those with late-diagnosed and high-masking/high-compensating ADHD, the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals navigating trauma. I may be a good fit if you're looking for someone who will gently challenge your thinking, offer new insights into your patterns of cognition and behavior, and explore practical strategies and techniques to better navigate life's challenges. In addition to individual counseling, I also invite partners and/or family members into session as appropriate/desired and offer diagnostic testing aimed at self-awareness, psychoeducation, and medication access for adult ADHD with a focus on women who are high-masking and often overlooked or misdiagnosed.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We'll use CBT to help process, explore, challenge, and adapt your thinking and behavior as you work to heal and grow toward your personal goals.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing offers an effective yet gentle approach to helping you get "unstuck" by helping you feel comfortable to open up, moving beyond internal conflict and ambivalence, and embracing the sometimes uncomfortable, often difficult, but incredibly rewarding work of bringing about positive change.
Trauma Informed Care
I am EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) trained and continuously seek out new knowledge when it comes to trauma treatment. Many of my clients have experienced trauma whether that be the life-threatening trauma of a single incident, ongoing systemic and/or family trauma, or developmental/complex trauma. It is important to me to be able to effectively and gently support you through whatever difficulties life has put you through.
