27 years of experience
I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families and specialize in women's issues/health and wellness, depression, anxiety, major life transitions, stress management, relationship issues, as well as grief and loss. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. In addition, I am also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
It is my goal to provide a non-judgmental and nurturing environment. I like to utilize the strengths perspective to promote growth and healing. During the first session, I will provide a biopsychosocial assessment in which we both get to know one another better, identify what we would like to work on together, and to answer any questions you may have.
I believe that mental and physical health are intertwined and essential to insuring that all adults, children, and families realize their potential. I also believe in meeting the client where they are emotionally, and view therapy as a journey that is to be guided by mutually agreed upon goals.
I enjoy working with adult clients who are highly motivated for change and are seeking to gain a better understanding of the issues that they are facing in an effort to improve their lives. I am also passionate about working with the Latino/Hispanic community, and am bilingual in Spanish. I also have extensive experience working in the medical field and am well versed in the issues that healthcare professionals experience.
I like to utilize a trans-theoretical approach that is client centered, consider the individual person in their environment and may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy and Emotion Focused therapy. It is my goal to provide a non-judgmental, nurturing environment, utilizing the strengths perspective to promote growth and healing.
