I am a mother of 4, grandmother to 13, and a wife for many many years. I have worked with children and their families for close to 30 years in various capacities. I have been a foster parent, preschool teacher and director, a child development instructor at a communnity college for over 17 years and a clinical supervisor to numerous trainees and interns who became wonderful clinicians. My focus has been helping those with trauma by listening to their stories and helping them make sense of their views of self. Through the use of EMDR, healing can happen quickly and it is so rewarding to watch as my clients receive the healing they deserve. I love to support parents in their journey and give them the confidence they need to be the best they can be. I've worked with countless children and adolescents in a county clinic for over 20 years and have learned how to help them navigate life's challenges. All this, along with my Christian beliefs, have inspired me and given me wisdom and compassion to do the work I love.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have 12 years of experience effectively using EMDR. (I am currently trained as a consultant, which means I can supervise and train other clinicians.) EMDR can be an alternative to years talk therapy. Rather, an exploration to identify and challenge life experiences that have resulted in a view of self that might have resulted led to poor relationships, anxiety, depression or difficuty making healthy choices.

Attachment-based

Attachment therapy looks at your connections to others based on your relationships with your primary caregivers while growing up.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused therapy identifes areas in your life inwhich you thought your life was in danger or you could be seriously injured. It could also be if you witnessed a traumatic event. This traumatic event could have been with a family member while growing up, with a partner, being involved in a natural disaster are only a few.
