Treatment methods
Interpersonal
How we relate to the world and see ourselves in it can significantly impact our mood. Relationships are at the foundation of what makes us human, what makes us thrive, feel seen or heard. I use IPT to strengthen clients' communication skills, self-advocacy, boundary setting, and capacity for empathy to help relationships feel stable, and to help clients feel that they can trust and be held by those they care about.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Anxiety and feeling panicky often need quick, in-the-moment tools to help clients feel more grounded. Mindfulness offers great options to chose from to help clients feel more grounded and regulated.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Thoughts and emotions are automatic, and the reality is we lack control over things that are automatic. However, we do have control over our responses to those thoughts and emotions. We can believe them, integrate them into our identities, or we can confront them and push back with curiosity. Learning explore your thoughts through reflection and other strategies, can change how your react or behave going forward. CBT is an effective way to relieve anxiety, depression, irritability, feeling overwhelmed, and encourages more positive self talk.
Attachment-based
Relationships are foundational to who we are and who we become. Reflection and analysis of relationship dynamics can help us better understand disruptive patterns that become persistent. Examining attachment can also help us realize how we want to connect and relate to others, and how we can set goals around relationship and make those improvements. It's important to remember, we can't change others but we can change ourselves.
