(she/they)
Hi, I’m Paula Srock, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I have had the privilege of working with individuals, families, and couples, helping them navigate life’s challenges and strengthen their emotional well-being. My clinical approach is grounded in Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Informed Care. These frameworks allow me to explore how the environments we grew up in shape our views of ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. I am passionate about supporting my clients on their journey toward healing and peace. My goal is to help individuals accept their past without allowing it to define their future—empowering them to live more fulfilling and authentic lives.
Your therapy sessions will be centered around you—your experiences, your goals, and your pace. In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and begin building trust. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss your hopes and concerns, and start identifying goals together. In ongoing sessions, you can expect a warm, collaborative environment where we work together to unpack thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Depending on your needs, sessions may include reflection, skill-building (like coping strategies or communication tools), and processing deeper experiences. I may integrate approaches like CBT, mindfulness, or trauma-informed care, always adjusting to what feels most helpful for you. Therapy is a space for growth, healing, and discovery—and I'm here to support you every step of the way.
I provide a warm, comfortable, and safe space where you can explore your experiences without judgment. My greatest strengths lie in building genuine connections, offering compassionate support, and helping clients develop the skills they need to navigate life’s challenges. I’m deeply empathetic, a strong listener, and passionate about helping people shift their perspectives and break free from old patterns that no longer serve them. Together, we’ll work to foster self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth—at your pace, in your way.
I work with adults, couples, and families who are ready to examine the beliefs they hold about themselves—and how those beliefs have shaped their relationships, behaviors, and emotional well-being. My clients are often navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, or trauma, and are seeking a path toward deeper understanding, emotional healing, and meaningful change. Together, we explore the personal narratives that have been formed through life experiences, many of which may no longer serve them. Through our work, clients learn to rewrite these narratives with intention and purpose, cultivating healthier relationships—with themselves and with others—and stepping into lives that feel more connected, empowered, and fulfilling.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based psychotherapeutic approach that focuses on identifying, understanding, and modifying maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors. In my practice, I utilize CBT to help clients develop healthier thinking patterns, regulate emotional responses, and adopt effective coping strategies for a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, and adjustment issues. Sessions typically include reviewing current challenges, examining core beliefs, and practicing new skills in real-time and between sessions. My CBT approach is always tailored to the individual needs of the client, and I integrate elements of compassion, mindfulness, and cultural sensitivity to ensure a safe, respectful, and effective therapeutic relationship.
I practice from a Trauma-Informed Care perspective, which means I approach therapy with a deep understanding of how past trauma—whether acute, chronic, or complex—can impact your emotions, relationships, and overall well-being. In our work together, I emphasize safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, and choice. I aim to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment.
