Hello! My name is Maria Lopez and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am committed to helping you along your journey whether you’re feeling anxious, worried, stressed, or having problems in your relationships with others. As a devoted therapist, I bring 9 years of experience working with individuals who experience anxiety, social anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, stress, and adjustment issues. As your therapist, I will hold a safe space for you to work on those obstacles that are holding you back. My therapeutic style is understanding and non-judgmental. I believe in meeting clients where they’re at and with the belief that every client wants to self-actualize I specialize in working with teens and young adults struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship problems and life transitions.
After our first session, you will feel more hopeful and a sense of peace. You will begin to learn more about yourself and gain helpful tools to overcome and manage what you’re currently struggling with.
I use an eclectic approach that consists of a combination person-centered therapy, CBT, and solution focused. Tools I use include deep breathing, grounding, and challenging one's negative self-talk.
My biggest strengths include holding a safe, non-judgmental space filled with empathy and understanding. A place for introspection and growth. I help women in various stages including adolescence/teens and young adulthood who are feeling anxious, worried, experiencing problems with others (in their dating life, with their partner, family, parent, child), or going through a major life change.
