New to Grow
Hello there I’m Johnny, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Miami, Florida. Outside of my work, I’m someone who loves to explore new places, try different foods, and spend time outdoors. Traveling gives me perspective and reminds me how much there is to learn from different people and cultures. I also enjoy cooking, scuba diving, and finding quiet moments near the ocean whenever I can. I’ve always had a curious side—I’m fascinated by astronomy and love collecting action figures, which is something that’s stuck with me since childhood. Those small interests keep me grounded and remind me to make space for the things that bring joy. Family is important to me, I value humor, honesty, and connection, both in my personal life and in the relationships I build every day. I believe that who we are outside of our work matters just as much as what we do, and I try to live in a way that reflects that balance.
Our first session the focus is on getting to know each other and building a sense of comfort and trust. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you hope to get out of it, and what goals or changes you’d like to work toward. I’ll also take time to understand your current challenges, triggers, and the strengths you already have that can support your progress. It's really about creating a space where you can share openly and start to see if we’re a good fit to work together. From there, we’ll begin to shape a plan that fits your needs and moves at a pace that feels right for you.
My greatest strengths would be my listening skills, being on time, and reliability.
Therapy should be a collaborative process where both client and therapist work together toward growth and self-understanding. My role isn’t to tell you who to be, but to help you explore where you are, how you got there, and where you want to go. I aim to create a space that feels safe, open, and judgment-free—a place where you can be real, even on the hard days. I work best with clients who are ready to look inward, challenge old patterns, and take active steps toward change, even when it feels uncomfortable. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, or just trying to find direction in life, I see therapy as a space to unpack those experiences with honesty and curiosity. Growth takes time, and I don’t believe in rushing the process. My approach balances motivation and accountability with patience and empathy. I also believe that therapy is a two-way process of learning. Every client teaches me something new about resilience, perspective, and what it means to be human. Together, we build a partnership that focuses not just on reducing symptoms, but on helping you create a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
My experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been central to my clinical practice. I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build greater self-awareness. Over time, this approach has allowed clients to feel more determined, self-regulated, and empowered to make lasting change. I also find that CBT provides structure and measurable progress, which helps clients stay engaged and confident in their therapeutic journey.
