Robin James
Greetings. My name is Robin James I am licensed in Indiana as a LMHC. I believe in the goodness of people and the right to feel heard and valued. I have been active in the efforts to end family violence.
First session
In the first session I would like to review the intake paperwork to further gain insight on the client needs. I would ask them to talk further about certain topics and ask them if they are comfortable along the session.
Strengths
My grandmother told me many years ago that you have two ears and one mouth and the reason is to make us better listeners. I listen to understand not to respond.
Ideal clients
I believe that there needs to be a connection between the therapist and the client. My first and utmost concern is that the client is getting the best therapy.
Treatment methods
Adlerian
I like this particular theory because it allows the client to be in charge of their life. The therapist job is to provide motivation and social acceptance.
