(she/her)
Welcome, and I look forward to being a support on this important and challenging journey of yours. As a first-generation Latina therapist, I understand systemic barriers, trauma care, intergenerational experiences, and community strengths. I hope to empower you to feel more confident in overcoming obstacles in your life. I am a bilingual(Spanish speaking) Licensed Clinical Social Worker with several years supporting patients achieve their goals to address trauma, societal stressors, life challenges, family complexities, school performance, and personal growth. I have my journey with societal pressures and family dynamics that inspired me to undertake the role of a therapist helping families, parents/caregivers, adolescents, and children overcome similar experiences.
In the first session, we will discuss your background, your reasons for therapy, and your potential goals. I seek to use these interactions to inform an approach that is best suited for your journey. I want to normalize nervousness for this first session. We will work through this process together.
My approach is to create a safe space that is client-centered, strength-based, and collaborative. As a mental health advocate, I take into consideration the different external factors impacting family and individuals' inner selves for an informative therapeutic approach to promote their well-being. I work collaboratively with you to consider your clinical needs and environmental factors to develop a trauma-informed and strength-based plan for your journey. I utilize a variety of interventions: Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family-Focused Therapy(FFT), Incredible Years Program, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
Struggling with trauma, family engagement, parenting, hyperactivity/inattention, family conflicts, anxiety? Parenting can be demanding with current societal factors, and I strive to help caregivers grow into their parenting styles. I am considerate of each individual and family's uniqueness to develop skills that align with their values and aspirations.
I have worked with families to address conflicts, improve communication skills, and improve connection. I am trained in Family Focused therapy.
I have been trained in TF-CBT and trauma informed modalities to address trauma symptoms and behaviors.
I am certified in PCIT and have been able to help caregivers improve their connectiona nd behavioral management skills.
