Dr Janice Hill
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, disabled veteran, and seasoned mental health professional with more than 15 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence\-informed support to individuals navigating complex emotional, psychological, and life circumstances\. My professional approach is grounded in the principles of trauma\-informed care, cultural humility, client self\-determination, and strengths\-based practice\. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment in which clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to participate actively in their own growth and healing\. Through a collaborative and individualized approach, I help clients develop greater insight into their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships\. I support individuals in identifying personal strengths, addressing barriers to well\-being, cultivating effective coping strategies, and building resilience during periods of transition or adversity\. My goal is to foster meaningful, sustainable change by integrating clinical knowledge with empathy, respect, and a deep appreciation for each client’s unique experiences, values, and goals
First session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting, supportive therapeutic relationship. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, any current concerns or challenges, and what you hope to gain from our work together. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. Together, we will identify your needs, strengths, and goals while developing a plan that supports your overall well-being and personal growth.
Strengths
I bring compassion, empathy, active listening, and a nonjudgmental approach to each session. I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. I believe in meeting clients where they are while helping them recognize their strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who are willing to learn about themselves, explore new perspectives, and take an active role in the therapeutic process\. They may be navigating emotional distress, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, or other barriers to well\-being and are open to developing greater insight into their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns\. While change can feel difficult, these clients are willing to reflect, practice new coping strategies, and collaborate on realistic steps toward their goals\.
