I have a PhD in Counseling and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I have 30 years of experience with a variety of issues and in multiple settings including community mental health, higher education, and private practice. I support clients with navigating difficult times by helping them clarify their values and learn alternative ways to deal with challenges and uncomfortable feelings, in order to live with greater intention and purpose.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I have an informal intake style, I prefer to talk more conversationally rather than have a list of questions. A less formal style helps develop rapport helps me to get to know you in order to best develop a plan of action specific to your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I not only promote values-based living, I also live it. You can expect me to bring my values to each session, some of which are authenticity, curiosity, open-mindedness, helpfulness, and even a little humor.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are motivated and open to actively engaging in the therapeutic process, demonstrating a willingness to embrace challenges in pursuit of personal growth and meaningful change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you accept your thoughts and feelings without trying to change them, while guiding you to take meaningful action based on your personal values to live a fuller, more flexible life. It combines mindfulness and acceptance strategies with commitment to values-based behavior, helping you respond effectively to life’s challenges instead of being controlled by difficult emotions.
