Finding a therapist can be a difficult task; actually calling one is even harder. When I am struggling with something I find myself irritable, directionless, and without energy (or too much nervous energy) – a difficult time to build new relationships. It is my hope that stepping into my office might feel like finding an oasis; a welcoming place where you can put down your burdens, relax, and see what you can unpack or unload. I engage with people with acceptance and curiosity and find strengths and inspiration in conversations. I am constantly amazed by people’s creativity, perspective, and desire to connect in personal ways. I see that solutions or inspiration often come through a playfulness that we often forget that we have. Happiness and playfulness are skills that we need to continue to practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My hope is that clients will be reminded that human connection can be found everywhere. That they can find things to laugh and learn about and realize that life is not as dangerous as it often appears in our own minds. Finally, to be reminded that we are creative people with stories of success and rich experience.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I am a Narrative therapist. I am empathetic, compassionate and curious. I often find great strengths in people when their anxiety, depression, or the world around them seem to discount their super powers. Everyone has super powers.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are my Authenticity/ real-ness and lack of pretense. You will find that curiosity and compassion lead my questions and discussions. I am often humbled by the many things I learn from other people. I am inspired by acts of courage and displays of creativity. These are easy to spot, if you are looking for them. I know that we all need reminders of the many things we do well. Oftentimes people already have solutions for what they are facing; they just need reminders that they are not alone.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have worked with couples, families and individuals. I love working with people working through transitions, leaving high school, college, or identifying new area of interest in their lives.
