I am the Founder of Blooming Minds Inc., and I am a Board Certified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been dedicated to helping children, young adults, their families, and caregivers for the past 17 years. I received a B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Los Angeles and a M.S. in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Phoenix, Arizona. My passion runs deep for my clients, and I am determined to make a difference in their lives as well as the lives of their families and caregivers. I began my early career providing public assistance to underserved communities. I expanded my career into child welfare services and have worked with children, their families and caregivers, helping support behavioral and emotional challenges, financial challenges, career challenges, and domestic violence. I understand the importance of early intervention, timely assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans to enable clients to live independently, encounter positive experiences from their environment, and be able to enjoy a fulfilling and happy life to reach their full potential. I believes the key to obtaining self-sufficiency for my clients is to assist them in the progression of their expressive language, daily living skills, social and family interactions, academics and/or career path. I continuously work to improve my knowledge by attending conferences and workshops, and always strive to bring highly recommended practices for my clients.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, understand your goals with therapy, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with low income and diverse populations has taught me about the importance of creating a safe space for my clients and giving them the tools to use in different aspects of their lives, whether it’s at home, at work, or in their communities. I will helping you identify the root cause of your current challenges and create a tailored plan with you taking the lead that will show measurable progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with diverse populations where I create a safe space to discuss various concerns. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their obstacles they encounter and don’t know how to safely express themselves.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I have been using a strength based approach as a children’s social worker working with adolescents and teens along with their families and community partners. I am a certified coach for child and family teaming as well and the entire process focuses on a strength based approach to helping families in my care

Group Therapy

I have ran groups for addiction and co dependency and I have used that during pre licensure and post licensure. I used group therapy techniques in my line of work as a child and family teaming coach that focuses also on the California core practice model for child welfare.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is the main approach I use with clients along with integration of other approaches. However studies indicate that this is the most effect method for measuring positive outcomes with sessions and most structured therefore I lean on this approach with regular clients. In crisis situations I add other treatment methods as I find appropriate
