Anxiety, depression, and relationship issues are experiences that many of us encounter at various times in our lives. If you are feeling overwhelmed by negative emotions or believe you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or any combination of stressors affecting your peace of mind and relationships, "you don't have to keep feeling this way." You are not alone in your struggles, and you deserve to regain the peace of mind and joy that seem to elude you right now. "Let's find a way forward together - with compassion, clarity, and lasting change." My primary goal is to help you transition from merely feeling good to truly living well. Whether you are facing a specific crisis or a slow accumulation of challenges that has left you feeling unlike yourself, my clinical work offers a safe, judgment-free space to begin moving toward greater clarity and well-being. I draw on a carefully integrated blend of evidence-based frameworks, selecting and tailoring techniques based on each client's unique needs, history, and goals. My therapeutic approach combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Process-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mind-body techniques. This approach is grounded in the belief that lasting change requires attending to the whole person — mind, body, and the relational world we inhabit. Through ACT, you will learn to be more psychologically present, connect with your values, and make space for life’s inevitable pain. You will also discover how to take actionable steps despite emotional discomfort and cultivate an appreciation for each moment in your life. While my specialty is brief therapy, some situations may require an extended therapeutic relationship, which can be beneficial for adults and parents dealing with complex mental health challenges and navigating difficult child-rearing adjustments at home.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Many of the people I work with are navigating painful emotional terrain — feeling stuck in cycles of worry, sadness, or self-doubt; struggling under the weight of overwhelming stress; or sensing that their relationships are not reaching their full potential. In our first session, I will help you identify what truly matters to you and teach you the skills to handle challenging thoughts and emotions, fully engage in your activities, and appreciate the fulfilling aspects of life. I will also ask about your therapy goals and how you will measure the success of our time together. In subsequent sessions, my main focus will be on identifying improvements and positive changes in your life. My therapeutic approach combines Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Process-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mind-body techniques. Through ACT, clients develop psychological flexibility - learning to hold difficult thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them, while moving toward a life aligned with their deepest values. Again, for me, therapy provides a safe space to address mental health struggles and overcome challenges. My methods, particularly ACT, CBT, and Positive Psychology, are effective in treating issues such as addiction, anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. They also assist individuals and couples facing relationship or parenting difficulties.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Are you tired of feeling weighed down by anxiety, caught in cycles of low mood, or struggling to connect in your relationship? You may have tried to push through — and found yourself back in the same place. That’s not a failure of willpower. It’s a signal that something deeper needs attention. “I’m a licensed therapist with a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. I use a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Positive Psychology to help people build a life that feels genuinely meaningful — not just manageable.” In my work, I focus on creating solutions rather than merely addressing problems. Positive Psychology, which is similar to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), is a therapeutic approach that helps individuals shift their perspective and regain control over their lives. When combined with ACT, this method draws on traditional behavioral and cognitive therapy, demonstrating effectiveness in treating issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, self-harm, and post-traumatic stress. It also supports individuals and couples facing relationship or parenting challenges. In my practice, I prioritize observing objective and visible behaviors rather than emphasizing diagnoses or labels. The therapeutic relationship is about understanding the client's perspective on their issues, which may include feelings of loneliness, anxiety, depression, anger, or family conflicts. A crucial aspect of therapy is being attuned to how clients or families perceive their problems, taking into account factors such as age or stage of life.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
“I work with adults, young adults, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma. Many of my clients describe feeling ‘stuck’ — like they know what they want but can’t seem to get there. That’s exactly where I love to work.” In my work, I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. My primary focus is on promoting self-compassion and fostering empathy toward others. Establishing trust and building strong rapport with my clients are essential to my work, as I am dedicated to thoroughly understanding their experiences, triggers, and behaviors. My approach is collaborative and grounded. I won’t just hand you worksheets — I’ll work alongside you to understand your patterns, challenge what’s holding you back, and help you reconnect with what matters most to you.”
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), combined with Mindfulness, stems from traditional behavior and cognitive behavioral therapy and is the cornerstone of my most relevant experience and training.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness, like positive psychology, encompasses psychological skills for effective living. It involves paying attention with openness, curiosity, kindness, and flexibility.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-focused brief treatment is a type of psychotherapy that emphasizes finding solutions rather than focusing on the origins of the problem. Practitioners using this approach employ goal-oriented questioning to help clients envision a future without their current issues. Whether addressing concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship difficulties, the solution-focused technique seeks to identify exceptions—instances where things went well despite the problem. By examining these exceptions, a pathway toward a solution can be established.
