Wes Perry
Do you wish for the calm, productive, fulfilling life you once enjoyed? You have made it this far in your search for peace, and that's amazing. Welcome. I'm Wes. I believe the process of therapy works best if we work as a team and focus on your specific goals while developing a treatment plan that will provide you effective relief from symptoms and help you develop a new vision for living a more creative and fully realized life. I am a psychotherapist with a wide range of experience. I have a master's degree in clinical social work and hold a clinical license. I work with individuals, couples, families, and small groups and I enjoy working with people from all ages, backgrounds, orientations, and ethnicities.
First session
Starting therapy carries mixed emotions. Excitement and fear to name a few. Each session may increase internal reflection about your life and everything surrounding it. It's likely to ignite self-exploration and self-awareness. You may think more about the conversations you have, the choices you make, and the relationships you cultivate with others. I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself lost in thought more often than you had been. I hope that you will develop a robust emotional vocabulary. As our therapeutic relationship grows, trust and honesty and safety will as well. There may be times when you feel upset or unsettled after a therapy session. That is part of the process of making changes and stepping outside your comfort zone to make the changes you seek.
Strengths
I am an active, empathic, and supportive listener with a sensitive approach to problem-solving. I offer a creative approach to the journey of self-awareness. If the situation and client are ready, I can be direct in challenging stagnation and resistance to change by calling out barriers and self-limit-setting behaviors.
Ideal clients
Seniors, Adults, Young Adults, Older Teens, Mood Disorders, LGBTQ+, Chronic Health Issues, Newly Diagnosed Medical Issues, End of Life and Hospice.
