Hello everyone, Cay Williams, LPC here! I currently reside in GA but I'm originally from North Philadelphia, Go Eagles! I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health in some capacity. I truly enjoy working with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions that leave them feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I believe in creating a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood—a place where emotions are valid, patterns are explored without judgment, and growth feels possible. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, helping clients build coping skills, strengthen self-awareness, and reconnect with their own resilience. Together, we work toward clarity, balance, and meaningful change, so that everyday life feels a little more manageable, connected, and fulfilling.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is all about getting to know you and understanding what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current challenges, your goals, and any patterns or experiences you’d like to explore. You can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where your thoughts and feelings are heard and validated. I’ll also explain how our sessions work, answer any questions you have, and together we’ll start shaping a plan for how we can work toward the changes you want to see in your life. There’s no pressure, you set the pace, and my role is to guide and support you every step of the way.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it’s collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I focus on creating a safe space where clients feel truly seen and heard, while also helping them identify patterns, explore emotions, and develop tools that actually make daily life more manageable. I combine empathy with actionable strategies, so therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about making meaningful progress. Clients often notice that they leave sessions with a better understanding of themselves, clearer coping strategies, and a stronger sense of confidence and resilience. My approach is designed to help you feel more in control, more connected to yourself, and better able to handle life’s challenges, while moving toward the goals that matter most to you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Ready to understand your patterns, manage your emotions, and feel more in control? You’re in the right place. I personally work best with teens and adults who feel stuck, stressed, or just a little overwhelmed by life or maybe struggling with the weight of the world altogether. Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or big life changes or maybe you're dealing with addiction, lack of support or giref and you’re ready to understand what’s going on inside your mind and emotions. I enjoy helping clients who are curious about their patterns, willing to try new ways to cope, and looking for practical tools to feel more in control, confident, and connected. Together, we can make sense of the challenges you’re facing and take small steps toward real, meaningful change in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a collaborative, skills-based approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I’ve experienced CBT as both practical and empowering—it gives clients concrete tools they can use in real time, not just during sessions. I focus on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, gently challenging them, and practicing alternative responses that feel more supportive and realistic. Overall, CBT allows me to meet clients where they are while helping them build insight, confidence, and lasting coping skills.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP) as a structured yet compassionate approach to help clients reduce suicidal thoughts and build reasons for living. My experience with this model has shown me how powerful it is to collaboratively identify triggers, challenge hopeless or all-or-nothing thinking, and strengthen coping and safety skills. I focus on creating a clear safety plan, increasing problem-solving abilities, and reinforcing protective factors through ongoing skill practice. This approach allows clients to feel supported while also gaining practical tools to navigate moments of acute distress.

Sex Therapy

In my practice, I use sex therapy as an affirming, integrative approach to help clients explore how intimacy, identity, relationships, and past experiences impact their emotional well-being. My experience with this modality has shown me how closely sexual health is connected to self-esteem, attachment, boundaries, and overall mental health. I work collaboratively with clients to reduce shame, increase communication skills, and foster a healthier relationship with their bodies and desires. This approach allows clients to feel validated while building insight and confidence in navigating intimate and relational concerns.

Compassion Focused

In my practice, I use Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves, especially when shame and self-criticism are prominent. My experience with this approach has shown how powerful it can be in regulating intense emotions by strengthening self-soothing and emotional safety. I guide clients in building compassion through mindfulness, imagery, and reframing inner dialogue. This method supports clients in increasing resilience, emotional balance, and self-acceptance.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my practice, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a structured, skills-based approach to help clients manage intense emotions and reduce impulsive or self-destructive behaviors. My experience with DBT has shown me how effective it is in balancing acceptance and change while teaching practical skills such as distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. I work collaboratively with clients to apply these skills to real-life situations both in and outside of sessions. This approach empowers clients to build stability, improve relationships, and increase emotional resilience.
