Friday Therapy for Busy Adults Who Need Space to Breathe, Reset, and Refocus. Hi, I’m Nakia! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and owner of Next Stage Counseling & Wellness®. I help busy adults who want to slow down, reset, and create a more grounded and fulfilling life. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about your next steps, you’re in the right place. I’ll help you gain clarity, confidence, and the emotional tools to navigate life with more intention and peace. My style is warm, direct, and supportive. I believe you are the expert of your own story, and my role is to help you uncover the strengths you already have and learn new strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and life transitions. I draw from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness strategies, and motivational interviewing. When desired, I also offer a faith-integrated approach that honors your spiritual foundation and personal beliefs.
In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and identify the key areas you want to focus on. From there, we’ll create a clear, tailored plan that helps you track your progress and build confidence along the way. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and equipped, not just understood.
With over 14 years of experience, I’m skilled at helping you get to the root of what’s going on, not just the surface symptoms. I’ll work with you to create a personalized plan that feels realistic and meaningful, so you can see steady, measurable progress in your daily life.
I work with adults who are: -Navigating life changes or identity shifts -Struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, or emotional overwhelm -Trying to build healthier boundaries and habits -Wanting to reconnect with themselves after “being on autopilot” My clients are ready to grow, but they don’t want complicated theories; they want practical steps that lead to real-life change.
I tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs, drawing from various therapeutic modalities while maintaining a faith-based foundation. I use treatment planning to encourage clients to set and track their therapeutic goals, ensuring progress that aligns with their specific situations and experiences. I aim for each client to gain clarity, embrace their choice to change and live well under any circumstance. True transformation begins when we achieve clarity, empowering us to make intentional, meaningful changes.
I integrate spiritual/Christian beliefs and practices into the therapeutic process if the client would like a biblical perspective. This approach can be practical for clients with strong faith or spiritual backgrounds.
