About me

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2019,. My primary experience has been in a community mental health setting, focusing on addictions and co-occurring issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. I love collaborating with you to help dig through your worries and problems and to work with you to find answers to the problems that you’d given up on solving. You and your lived experience as an indispensable part of the therapy process, and I follow your lead as to whether we focus on solutions, understanding and insight, or both. Whichever direction you choose, we can talk about skills to manage stress and emotions when things don’t go well in the future, and talk about how to build stronger relationships to help you grow.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first appointment, we discuss what’s going right, what’s going wrong, and how to move more things in your life into the first column. Sometimes we can find ways to solve problems and correct things that have gone wrong, while other situations may lead us to consider ways to understand and live in peace with things that we can’t actually change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Therapy is a dance, which requires balance and constant awareness to recognize what a client needs in a given moment. I try to respond to your needs in each session by holding space for you if you need silence, prompting or encouraging you if you seem stuck, and keeping a collaborative approach at the forefront. In years of therapy sessions, with a wide variety of clients with a wide array of needs, I have learned to go with the flow and let the needs of the client dictate the direction of the conversation, while maintaining focus on the client's treatment plan as an anchor point to keep us on track.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients who are navigating struggles with life transitions and relationships, learning to be effective in family roles, and working to develop their sense of self. I have significant experience in working with addictions, and in working to support people in getting their feet back under them after addiction has taken everything. I also work with trauma, as people as coming to terms with things from the past, working to unpack the impact on their life in the present, and set themselves in a place to have a happy, peaceful, meaningful life in the future.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is foundational to several different therapy styles, because it deals with the interactions between our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, which you can think of as forming the corners of a triangle. Something that I appreciate about CBT is that it can be used to approach a 'stuck' problem through any of the 'corners' to get around that stuck point.
