As a therapist, I understand the importance of providing individualized care to those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns. My goal is to empower my clients to overcome these challenges and improve their overall well-being. To achieve this, I utilize a combination of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and an eclectic approach that takes into account each clients unique circumstances and needs. By working together, we can identify and challenge negative thought patterns and develop new, healthier coping mechanisms. In addition to CBT, I may also incorporate other therapeutic approaches, such as mindfulness, narrative therapy, and religious and spiritual exploration. My ultimate goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
Embarking on your first therapy session is a significant step towards self-care, and I am here to try to create a comforting and positive experience. In this initial meeting, there's no pressure to share anything you're not ready to; this session is primarily about building trust, getting to know some of your background information regarding what brought you to therapy, and laying the foundation for a supportive and empathetic relationship.
I focus on continually growing as a therapist so that I can best help my clients. Knowledge, empathy, commitment, flexibility, the use of evidenced-based approaches, and collaboration are my biggest strengths. Balancing and improving upon these strengths help give me the ability to work well with a wide variety of age groups and identities who are facing a wide variety of mental health and emotional challenges.
I use an eclectic therapy style that offers a highly personalized approach to mental health treatment, allowing me to tailor therapeutic methods to the specific needs, preferences, and circumstances of each client. This flexibility can be particularly beneficial because it enables me to employ a variety of therapeutic techniques from different psychological theories, ensuring that the approach is the most effective and responsive to the client's unique situation. By integrating multiple perspectives, eclectic therapy can address a wide range of issues and adapt to the client's evolving needs over time. This approach encourages a more holistic understanding of the client, considering various aspects of their life and personality, which can lead to more comprehensive and meaningful outcomes in therapy.
