LPC, 4 years of experience
New to Grow
I am licensed in Alabama with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, abuse, motivation, self-esteem, & confidence. I also have experience working with depression. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started!
In our first session, we'll take some time to get to know each other. We’ll talk about your background and what has brought you to therapy. Therapy is a journey, and we’ll build on our work together as we move forward. It’s completely normal to feel nervous about your first appointment, but we’ll go at your pace, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
When you work with me, my approach is rooted in creating a space where you feel completely safe, supported, and valued for who you are. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and I believe in meeting you exactly where you are, without judgment or expectation. I see you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, helping you uncover your strengths, explore your feelings, and find clarity in your journey. I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a person-centered approach because I believe that true healing happens when we combine practical tools with a deep sense of empathy and understanding. CBT allows us to examine and challenge the negative thought patterns that may be holding you back, while the person-centered approach ensures that every step we take is aligned with your unique experiences, needs, and values.
As your therapist, my goal is to walk alongside you as you work toward the changes you want to make in your life. I’ll take the time to truly understand your unique needs and help you set clear, meaningful goals that align with what’s important to you. Together, we’ll explore the obstacles you’re facing, and I’ll provide you with practical tools and strategies to tackle them, whether it’s managing anxiety, improving self-confidence, or navigating relationships. Along the way, I’ll support you with compassion, celebrate your progress, and adapt as your journey evolves. Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to move forward with confidence, knowing that you have the strength and tools to create the life you want.
I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundational approach in my clinical work. CBT's structured, goal-oriented nature allows me to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how these can contribute to distress or dysfunction.
I regularly use Motivational Interviewing (MI) in my clinical work as a person-centered, strengths-based approach to support clients who may feel ambivalent about change. MI has been especially valuable in working with individuals facing challenges related to substance use, behavior change, or engagement in treatment.
Person-Centered Therapy, rooted in the work of Carl Rogers, is a foundational approach in my clinical practice. I consistently apply its core principles—unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence—to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard, accepted, and empowered.
