Maria Henry
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing and a diverse nursing background that has shaped my compassionate, whole-person approach to mental health care.
Compassionate, collaborative mental health care focused on helping you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, sleep difficulties, and other mental health challenges. I believe mental health care should feel collaborative, supportive, and free of judgment. I take the time to understand each person beyond their symptoms, including their experiences, relationships, stressors, strengths, and goals. My goal is to create a comfortable space where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and develop a clear understanding of what brings you to care. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, lifestyle, relationships, stressors, and treatment goals. You can expect a welcoming, judgment-free conversation where you have time to share your story and ask questions. Together, we will discuss treatment options and develop a personalized plan that feels realistic and comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and clear about the next steps in your care.
Strengths
My approach is individualized, collaborative, and evidence-based. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care, so I work with each client to develop a treatment plan that reflects their symptoms, needs, preferences, and personal goals. Care may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, supportive therapy, education, and practical strategies for improving daily functioning and overall well-being. I value open communication and shared decision-making, and I want clients to understand their diagnosis and treatment options so they can feel confident and empowered in their care.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional challenges, or difficulty managing everyday stress. I enjoy working with individuals who want to better understand themselves, improve focus and emotional regulation, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful change. I provide a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard while working toward your mental health goals.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we explore unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and practice practical coping strategies. I incorporate CBT techniques to help clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional challenges while building skills they can apply to everyday situations.
