(she/her)
Hi there! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I help clients discover ways to manage different types of life stress. My areas of specialization are backed by research to manage anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, and other mood based ailments. Through the use of evidence based practices, I provide guidance on determining steps that feel authentic, effective, and empowering to you.
In our first session, we’ll start with introductions, and I’ll review what I can offer you during our time together. We’ll dive into the specific challenges you’re facing, and create a tailored plan to guide our sessions.
With over 10 years of experience in psychotherapy, I’ve developed a tried and true approach to help you (a) identify the root of your challenges (b) create a plan leading to measurable progress (c) grapple and sort through difficulties in the way of problem resolution and (d) reinforce what's worked to sustain your gains after our time together.
I love working with individuals interested in learning and applying skills to manage difficulties. Throughout life, you may notice a desire to improve, and at the same time have the question, where do I start? Together we'll create a plan using therapeutic tools to turn your aspirations into accomplished goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I am a certified Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I utilize CBT as practice to increase awareness of unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and shift them to more helpful patterns of thinking and interacting in our day-to-day life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize DBT as a behavioral based treatment to introduce and practice effective coping skills that can be applied to all areas of life specifically through regulating emotions, tolerating distress, interacting with others (family, partners, coworkers, others), and mindfulness practices.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I am a Certified Trained Mindfulness Facilitator of UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center. Mindfulness practice can assist with being present to our experiences with a sense of openness and curiosity. In doing that, we may find we are not so tossed by events that happen around us or to us, and feel better equipped to approach situations with a sense of balance and well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
In practice, Motivational interviewing is helpful if you are having difficulty clarifying a problem, or noticing you're not quite sure how you feel about making a change in your life. It is also useful with creating a plan on moving toward change.
