I’m Chelsea, a somatic-first therapist who helps people move from emotional overwhelm into steadiness and clarity. In my practice, I guide clients to slow down, notice what’s happening in their bodies, and act from a grounded, regulated place rather than from panic, old wounds, or automatic patterns. I blend ACT, DBT, CBT, and embodied awareness to help people understand their thoughts, regulate their nervous systems, and build relationships and behaviors that align with their values. My work is gentle, intuitive, and deeply human — focused on helping clients feel anchored, present, and capable of choosing the life they want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I focus on helping you settle in, feel safe, and get a sense of what it’s like to work with me. We move slowly. I’ll invite you to talk about what brought you in, but I won’t rush you or push for a perfectly organized story. I pay close attention to your body cues because they often tell us more than the words do. We’ll explore what you’re hoping for, what’s been hard, and what you want to feel more of in your life. I’ll share how I work: gently, steadily, and with a mix of somatic awareness and evidence‑based approaches like ACT, DBT, and CBT. Together, we’ll start building a sense of safety, clarity, and direction. My goal in that first hour is simple — for you to walk out feeling understood, grounded, and not alone with whatever you’re carrying.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a steady, grounded presence into every session, and that’s really the heart of my work. I help clients slow down enough to hear themselves — not just their thoughts, but their bodies, their patterns, and the parts of them that have been trying to speak for years. I’m skilled at tracking somatic cues, noticing the moment someone shifts from anchor to ache, and gently guiding them back into regulation. My approach stands out because it’s both deeply human and clinically solid. I blend ACT, DBT, CBT, and somatic awareness in a way that feels intuitive rather than mechanical. I don’t rush insight or force change; I help clients build it from the inside out. People feel safe with me. They feel seen without being overwhelmed, challenged without being pushed, and supported in a way that helps them grow into steadier, more values‑aligned versions of themselves.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize body sensations, help ones realize they are not defined by their feelings, assist in sitting with discomfort, identify what really matters to them, and take take steps towards that even when uncomfortable.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize mindfulness (being present); distress tolerance (helping you survive the moment), Emotion Regulation (helping one understand influence their emotions); and Interpersonal Effectiveness (helping one communicate clearly and keep relationships healthy).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help others identify automatic thoughts, explore their emotion and bodily response, examine the evidence, identify cognitive distortions, reform their thoughts, and then test these thoughts.

EMDR

I use EMDR as a way to help clients process experiences that their minds understand but their bodies are still holding onto. In my work, EMDR isn’t just about eye movements or bilateral stimulation — it’s about creating a safe, steady space where your nervous system can finally complete what it never got the chance to finish. In session, I guide you gently. We start by building regulation and resourcing so your system feels anchored. Then, when you’re ready, we move into the memory or emotional target with curiosity rather than overwhelm. I help you notice what comes up in your body — the shifts, the tightness, the images, the beliefs — and we let your brain do the work it’s wired to do: integrate, release, and reorganize. My approach stands out because it’s slow, attuned, and deeply somatic. I don’t rush processing or push you into material you’re not ready for. I stay with you, track your cues, and help your system move toward healing in a way that feels safe, grounded, and empowering. EMDR becomes a collaborative, embodied process where you’re not reliving trauma — you’re finally resolving it.
