I am a licensed clinical social worker with 18 years of experience in the mental health field. My practice centers on helping people understand themselves with greater clarity and acceptance, while working together toward changes that feel meaningful and sustainable. I have extensive experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, serious mental illness, relationship stress, family conflict, and major life disruptions.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I start by getting to know you and your context. We will talk about what you are going through, why you are seeking therapy now, and what has shaped your life up to this point. You do not need to know exactly where to start or have the right words ready. If you are unsure what to say first, we will figure that out together. I will also help you understand what you can expect from me as your therapist, what therapy may look like in the short term and long term, and what you want to get from our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring patience, steadiness, clinical experience, and a strong belief that people should be understood in the context of their lives, not reduced to symptoms or labels. My background includes extensive work with people living with serious mental illness, including helping clients rebuild stability, daily functioning, relationships, school, work, and a sense of purpose. I also bring a collaborative, practical approach that balances reflection with tools clients can use in real life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve clients who feel overwhelmed by their thoughts, emotions, relationships, or life circumstances and want help making sense of what is happening. Many people I work well with may feel stuck in patterns that affect work, school, family, relationships, motivation, self-care, or emotional stability. They may be managing anxiety, depression, mood changes, ADHD, personality-related struggles, or serious mental illness, while trying to rebuild steadiness and direction in daily life. I work especially well with clients who want to be understood in context, not reduced to a diagnosis or treated as a problem to fix. You do not need to know exactly what to say or where to start. If you are looking for a therapist who will listen carefully, help you understand yourself more clearly, and work with you to build practical steps toward a more manageable and meaningful life, we may be a good fit.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this approach to help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and expectations influence one another. We look at patterns that may be contributing to stress, emotional reactions, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck. From there, we work together to build practical tools, challenge unhelpful pressures or assumptions, and create changes that feel realistic and sustainable.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use this approach to help clients get through intense emotions and stressful moments without feeling as overwhelmed or reactive. We may work on slowing things down, noticing what is happening inside, communicating more clearly, and finding ways to respond that feel more helpful. The goal is not to judge your reactions, but to understand them and build tools that support you in daily life.

Existential

I use this approach to help clients explore bigger questions about meaning, purpose, identity, choice, and the kind of life they want to build. This can be helpful when you feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of your direction. Together, we look at what matters to you and how therapy can support a life that feels more honest, grounded, and meaningful.

Motivational Interviewing

I use this approach when part of you wants change, but another part feels unsure, stuck, or not ready. Instead of pushing you, we take time to understand what matters to you, what feels difficult, and what kind of change would actually feel possible. This helps us move at a pace that feels respectful and realistic.
