LMHC, 13 years of experience
New to Grow
With over 13 years of experience in counseling and clinical care management, I have developed a thriving practice providing care for clients across different cultures and states (NY, NJ, FL and CA). I am a former supervisor of clinical services at a large managed care company, former Behavior Intervention Specialist, clinical trainer, independent consultant, group facilitator and Associate Professor of Psychology and Forensic Psychology.
During our first session, you can expect that I ask a lot of questions to get to know you beyond the paperwork you complete. It is important for me to know what you're going through, the things that are important to you and what you want to work on. I also welcome questions from you to make you more comfortable in this journey. With time permitting in the first session, we may practice a technique or two that can start to help you on your healing journey.
I believe we are all powerfully equipped to improve our overall well-being. My approach is person-centered and Solution-focused. No two people are the same, and as such, responses to different treatment approaches and modalities may differ. Therefore, I meet you where you are and work with you to determine what will work best to achieve desired outcomes.
Clients I work with vary: some are not quite ready for change and testing the waters for the first time; some are ready for change and ready to put in the work. Regardless of who you are and where you are in the healing journey, I will be there as a support to help you along the way.
My approach is a person-centered one, understanding that no two people will respond similarly to the same interventions or techniques. Because of this fundamental belief, I utilize treatment methods most suited to each client (CBT, ACT, Person-centered, Eclectic): reinforcing inherent skills and partnering with them for best results and outcomes.
