New to Grow
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, supported, and comfortable being yourself. I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with experience helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and trauma. My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques to help clients better understand themselves while building practical tools they can use outside of session. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for personal growth, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, challenged when appropriate, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting change.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what's been most challenging recently, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I'll ask questions about your history, current stressors, relationships, and strengths to better understand the whole picture, not just the problem that brought you in. There's no pressure to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you're always welcome to ask questions throughout the process. Together, we'll begin identifying goals for therapy and discuss an approach that fits your unique needs. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together moving forward.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I balance compassion with honesty. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment while also helping clients recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I won't simply listen—I actively collaborate with you, ask thoughtful questions, offer practical strategies, and gently challenge unhelpful thoughts or behaviors when it supports your growth. I also believe that appropriate humor can be a powerful part of the process, helping to ease tension, build connection, and remind us that even in difficult moments, there can be space for lightness. My background working in schools, crisis settings, outpatient therapy, and telehealth has given me experience supporting people through a wide range of challenges. I understand that every client is different, so I tailor therapy to your personality, goals, and pace. I believe meaningful change happens through a strong therapeutic relationship, evidence-based interventions, and helping clients build confidence in their own ability to navigate life's challenges long after therapy ends.
I work with adolescents and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, self-esteem concerns, depression, or trauma. Many are looking for practical tools while also wanting to better understand themselves and their patterns. I have a special interest in supporting college students and young adults as they navigate academic pressures, identity development, independence, and the transition into adulthood. Whether you're managing stress, balancing responsibilities, or feeling uncertain about your path, I provide a space to explore these challenges and build confidence. My ideal clients don't need to have everything figured out—they simply need to be open to self-exploration and growth. Together, we create a supportive, collaborative space where you can build insight, develop effective coping skills, and make meaningful, lasting change.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how these patterns can influence the way you experience life's challenges. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore more balanced perspectives, and develop practical skills to help you respond to situations in ways that better align with your goals and values. My goal is to give you tools you can continue using long after therapy ends, helping you feel more confident, resilient, and in control of your life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on building practical skills to help you manage intense emotions, cope with stress, improve relationships, and respond more effectively during difficult moments. Together, we'll strengthen your ability to stay present, regulate emotions, communicate your needs, and navigate challenges without feeling overwhelmed. These skills are designed to help you create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and aligned with what matters most to you.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I tailor mindfulness techniques to each client's comfort level and goals. For some people, this may include traditional mindfulness or meditation practices, while for others it may simply involve learning to slow down, become more aware of their thoughts and emotions, or use grounding strategies during stressful moments. Together, we'll find approaches that feel practical, approachable, and fit naturally into your daily life rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
