Hello! My name is Donyell Davis and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Texas. I earned my Master’s in Social Work with a focus on Services to Children and Families from Our Lady of the Lakes University. I have 14 years of experience in the social work field working with diverse populations. My clients often describe me as empathetic, compassionate, and attentive. I pride myself on being an open-minded lifelong learner with a keen interest in evidence-based practice interventions. I chose to become a therapist because I discovered that blending the heart of a social worker with the professional skill set of an effective therapist profoundly enhances individuals’ quality of life. What sets me apart is my collaborative approach: we embark on this journey together to develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, without rushing the process. I enjoy working through issues that I have personally experienced like being a single parent, losing a spouse and the affects it has on the family system, raising a child with a disability, work-life balance, unhealthy relationships, lack of a support system, absence of a positive role model early in life, navigating life challenges, obtaining personal growth, and communication skills.

Since 2000, I've dedicated much of my professional career as a life coach. In 2016, I began my journey to become a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in assisting individuals in managing their challenges. My approach integrates both intellectual and emotional aspects to support clients effectively. Using CBT, TF-CBT, and Motivational interviewing techniques, I provide structured, goal-oriented processes while focusing on achieving specific therapeutic goals. Addressing the needs of individuals who have experienced trauma by reducing symptoms of trauma-related disorders, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, among children, adolescents, and their families. Concentrating on helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change, the collaborative and client-centered nature effectively enhances motivation, promotes engagement in treatment, and supports clients in making meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives. Please contact me today to schedule a consultation.

I’m a bicultural psychotherapist, born in Brownsville, Texas and raised in Matamoros, Mexico. My personal journey through life’s ups and downs is what led me to this work and continues to shape how I show up for others today. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Certified Grief Counselor (C-GC) through the American Academy of Grief Counseling, my primary focus is on helping individuals navigate grief, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ support, trauma, and life transitions with care and cultural understanding. I know how heavy life can feel sometimes, and I believe deeply in the power of being truly seen and heard in a safe space. My goal is to create that space, one that’s warm, compassionate, and judgment-free, where healing can begin and you don’t have to carry everything on your own.

The human experience is not something that always works based on logic. Our brains are wonderful tools that can occasionally get stuck in a survival mode that leaves us feeling helpless and terrified. We can become stuck logical loops, anxious cycles, helpless before the fear of the unknown, or in a dark depression that stops us from continuing our previous goals and fun hobbies. Our past can be a reason for this. Sometimes it might be recent events at just the wrong time. It can even be a combination of small things that seemed to always shift never going away. My philosophy of treatment is to teach my clients how mind and body work so that they can make their choice in how they choose to live and interact with others. I am trained in EMDR, hypnosis, and IFS and apply all in working with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression and for pain management from physical illness. A person's mind is like a garden, cultivated or left to it's own devices it will always grow. When carefully tended it is a thing of beauty, but if left alone it is a mess of weeds. In understanding the thoughts and beliefs you have about the world and how you can shape them, you can learn to thrive. With a new perspective you can change everything.

Hello, Welcome to my private practice. My fundamental approach to therapy is person-centered and based on solution-focused methods. I endeavor to provide a safe place for you to feel seen and heard. Together we will explore and learn about your deepest inner world. We will examine your current ways of coping and explore how to transform them to better serve your needs here and now. I can help you uncover the impediments to effectively dealing with the challenges that life can bring and consider alternative approaches that serve you better. On the whole, I see my role as being your guide in helping you identify the optimal and least disruptive path to your answers and your solutions. A guide is not just a fellow traveler – I will occasionally confront and disagree with you – but ultimately it is your path and your goal which I am privileged to witness and, at times, partake. On any fruitful journey, collaboration will be essential, and I am always joyful to begin our trek. I will place my trust in you as you do in me. My ultimate goal is to help you gain the self-esteem and self-compassion necessary to nurture strong and healthy relationships with those you care about in your personal and work life. Significant relationships are subtly re-negotiated every day and I believe no relationship is more important than your relationship with yourself.

Since becoming a counselor, I have worked in a variety of community counseling settings. I have worked with clients from ages 3 through 80 and with individuals, couples, and families. With that breadth of experience, very little shocks or surprises me and I have gotten a pretty good sense of where the types of counseling that play to my strengths as a counselor overlap with the types of counseling that are helpful for my clients. This sense (along with learning about lots and lots of research into what helps people find and maintain mental health) has led to the following guiding principles that shape all the counseling I do: 1) The client is always in charge. I know a lot of things but you will always be the one who decides what you want to get out of counseling, how we work towards that goal, whether or not what we’re doing seems to be working, and when we’re done. 2) Change and health happen through relationships. No matter what you come in for, there are always relational implications of change and relational factors that contribute to whatever it is that you came to counseling to change. 3) Counseling should be efficient. Counseling has significant costs in time and money. I think the benefits far outweigh the costs but if I can give you the benefits while helping you save on the costs then I want to do that.

Clients shouldn't have to be in therapy forever! Together, we'll co-create a balanced approach combining active listening with practical techniques, helping you reclaim your narrative and overcome obstacles. My clinical and holistic approach aims for deeper alignment and fulfillment—think more water, less soda. As an LCSW, I'm trained in EMDR, certified in Theta Healing, Reiki, Transformational Life Coaching, and Therapeutic Touch, and am a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space to explore your wants, needs, and emotions. You know yourself best, and our work is about uncovering your truths rather than imposing mine. Together, we'll determine the tools and approaches that best suit your needs, ensuring you feel heard, validated, and empowered. The goal is to help you confidently manage challenges independently over time. We'll walk side-by-side, with you gradually taking the lead and me offering steady support. If you have pressing concerns, those always take precedence. Our sessions focus on understanding HOW you think, not just WHAT you think, exploring both conscious and unconscious beliefs and emotions. You'll leave with clear, actionable steps, such as mindfulness exercises, creative writing prompts, meditation, and breathwork techniques to regulate emotions and reclaim your narrative. Therapy isn't about fixing what's "broken" but enhancing alignment and fulfillment while overcoming obstacles. By focusing on your goals and measuring progress, we can eliminate stigma, leaving shame behind and empowering you toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment.

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS! That is the key!! With 25 years of experience, much research, studying, and face to face experience living and working all over the world, I realized relationships with yourself and with others can make or break our contentment in life! But there are skills to learn to make it happen, skills such as self-awareness, ability to pay attention to the world around us and our own bodies (mindfulness), learning to grieve and let go while embracing change, learning the characteristics of a healthy relationship with others and with ourselves, and accessing our strengths while focusing on the beauty in life. I'd love to walk with you through this process to restore hope.

For the past 18 years, I have worked with people who are pregnant, have just had a baby, or are learning to be parents. I also support adults who are feeling anxious, sad, or stressed, or who are going through big changes in their lives. I want everyone I work with to feel seen, supported, and strong. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Central Florida, and I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. This means I have special training to help people through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. It is such an honor to see people grow, heal, and become more confident and connected with themselves and their families.

I believe the most important part of therapy is a relationship that is non-judgmental, open, and warm. I want our time together to be collaborative. I want to understand what has worked for you in the past and what you’d like to focus on in your future. I grew up in Louisiana and started my training in New Orleans, where I worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I have worked with court-mandated clients, domestic violence survivors, to private therapy settings. My treatment specialties range from depression, anxiety, substance use, and trauma. I use techniques ranging from cognitive behavioral approach to EMDR when appropriate. I believe there is no such thing as “therapy as usual” because each person has a unique worldview, history, and personal goals. I want therapy to feel tailored to you and be a space for you to explore what’s on your mind.

Motto: "Its okay to not be okay." "Everyone needs a listening ear." We all need help from time to time. I envision my practice as a mental health community where all people are capable of change. Far too often, people are seen as deficient and lacking what it takes to be healthy and happy. I understand that everyone is unique and different and that people are shaped by their experiences and circumstances. You are the expert in your life and I am just here to assist you. You have the answers within you. Sometimes we just need a little help to eliminate negative thoughts and destructive behavior that can become an obstacle in our lives. My expertise areas include working with individuals with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, infertility/fertility issues, and POC (people of color).

Like you, I have had my own set of challenges and believe the key to overcoming life's obstacles is learning to plan and cope. Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile. I’m originally from Philadelphia and now based in Baltimore. I went to graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied Social Work and Latin American Studies. I have worked in the social services field for over 15 years and have been a licensed social worker and practicing therapist for 7 years. Most of my experience has consisted of working with survivors of violence (family, intimate partner, and/or sexual violence) as well as with Spanish-speaking immigrants. I enjoy working with caregivers and their children and with mixed status immigrant families. Although I am not Hispanic/Latine, I lived in Peru for about 5 years and speak Spanish fluently, so I am comfortable providing therapy in Spanish. At this time, I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults (ages 16+) who are managing anxiety or undergoing life changes. As a community organizer myself, I also enjoy supporting fellow organizers who are experiencing burnout. I typically offer short-term (10-15 sessions) with a solution-focused approach. Additionally, I provide mental health evaluations in English and Spanish for immigrant clients who are looking to support their legal cases (asylum, U-Visa, VAWA, and extreme hardship waivers). Because these are completely separate from therapy sessions, please schedule a consultation call only so that we can discuss this option.

Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.

Imagine life is like a journey completely in your control but you feel stuck. Choices you make dictate life’s obstacles and they can be tricky. Life’s journey comes with no instruction pamphlet or ready-made companions. A path unfolds and you decide what to do and who to trust along the way. As you journey you begin to see things you want, potential companions, places you want to explore, and tools you can use to make travels simpler. There are so many choices to make with no time to stop and contemplate the best decision; you have to keep going by making choices every day, about everything. Decisions and deadlines do not wait. Consequences of decisions do not wait for preparations of readiness. Age does not determine how hard life can be nor deter reality. Whether you are age 5 or 95, you have to wake up daily and continue life’s journey, but it is not always an easy task. My theoretical orientation is Person-Centered Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. Let me be your Phoenix! I believe life’s tools are inside of us, self-actualization, self-trust, coping strategies, and the willingness to grow. We simply must explore them. At Rapunzel's Phoenix Counseling Services, I help toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, families, and the LGBTQIAPK community. Online Counseling Services are available upon request.

Hello, I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that). At this point, I changed professions and out of a desire to work with veterans, I returned to school, accomplishing all that was necessary to become a licensed counselor. I spent another career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically as a counselor in the Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center). I recently retired from the Vet Center and now I work part-time here with Grow Therapy. As a retired Marine senior staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) and disabled combat veteran myself, the Vet Center was the perfect job. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to combat veterans and provide counseling to survivors of military sexual trauma (MST). Vet Centers also provide group counseling, bereavement counseling and couples counseling when this is determined to be of support to the veteran. Readjustment counseling many times consists of treating/addressing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), I.e., anxiety, depression, exaggerated startle response, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, etc. Many veterans go on to work as first responders and working with many first responders as well as medical personal, has provided me with a great deal of additional experience.
