I believe there is power in learning to balance our lives emotionally and spiritually. I have 30-plus years of experience as a counselor, and have been able to help clients find emotional and general life balance. I draw from primary treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, and Existential Theories. At the conclusion of counseling, clients should be able to actively deal with their internal states in a way that allows them to feel more at peace with increased self-esteem, and well-being.

Hi, I’m Ashley. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with my dog. My passion is supporting people in all stages of life work towards finding purpose and becoming the best versions of themselves. Maybe you can relate to some of my story. I became a therapist in 2019 to give back some of the hope that was given to me as I embarked on my own mental health journey. I remember thinking to myself, “Who am I?”, and “Am I good enough?”. I remember, and still know how that style of thinking can be overpowering, and become what I have learned to call “sticky thoughts”. These thoughts can lead to anxiety, depression, irritability, and can be the root cause of unhelpful coping skills and habits. Once we get into that negative cycle, it can feel impossible to get out. This occurred for many years, and consumed my entire being until I had support from family, therapists, sports coaches, and friends, and reached out for help. Let me tell you from experience, recovery is not easy. Working on yourself is one of the hardest things you can do, but the most rewarding, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you do this meaningful work.

Hello, I'm a counselor with a background in Forensic Psychology, having worked in the field since 2004. I have the privilege of serving a diverse range of clients from various ethnicities, racial backgrounds, and socioeconomic classes. I bring something to individual and couples therapy that is rare today and not from a text book, that is lived experience. In drawing from different evidence based schools of thought in combination with my lived experiences we will employ such modalities of therapy such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Adversity and struggle are situations that are common. The goal to avoid both would be ideal but that is not reality. Peace and calmness in the mist of adversity and struggle is a possible reality and what we will strive to help you achieve.

I believe in a practical, goal-oriented approach that equips clients with tools they can apply in everyday life, whether they're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions. My sessions are collaborative and supportive, creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
With couples, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and resolving conflict in ways that foster deeper connection. I draw from evidence-based methods like the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, tailoring the process to fit each couple’s unique dynamic.
For those who desire a faith-based approach, I also offer Christian counseling. I integrate biblical principles, prayer, and spiritual reflection into the therapeutic process when appropriate. This allows for holistic healing that honors both emotional and spiritual needs, offering hope and a stronger sense of purpose.
What sets my practice apart is my commitment to creating a warm, judgment-free environment where real change can take place. I see therapy as a partnership—one that honors your story, builds on your strengths, and supports you in becoming the person or couple you’re called to be.
