New to Grow
I hold a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University at Albany, with specialized training in psychodynamic therapy. Over the past 14 years, I have developed an eclectic practice, working across diverse settings that have deepened my understanding of the human condition. Through this experience, I have come to appreciate both the resilience individuals possess and the challenges they face when striving toward their goals while carrying the weight of past experiences and ingrained patterns. I recognize how daily life can sometimes feel burdensome, leading to a sense of being “stuck.” I believe the therapeutic relationship provides a supportive space to gain clarity and renewed energy, helping clients move forward and foster meaningful growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The initial three sessions are intentionally structured and serve as a foundation for our work together. During these sessions, my focus is on gathering important information to better understand your presenting concerns, your upbringing and family structure, influential people in your life, as well as significant life events or traumatic experiences. This process also provides an opportunity for us to build rapport and establish a sense of trust, setting the stage for a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring creativity and spirituality to my therapeutic work, often incorporating analogies, parables, and various forms of media to deepen and expand the therapeutic process. My approach is holistic, recognizing that mental health is shaped by multiple, sometimes unforeseen, factors. I am attentive to the broader context of my clients’ lives and may recommend collaborating with other helping professionals to create a comprehensive healing system. This integrative perspective allows me to support clients on their unique journeys toward well-being.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is courageous and self-aware, recognizing that their current environment or family system no longer supports their dreams. They may feel disillusioned or depleted by trying to conform, but are ready to pursue a path uniquely their own, even if it means walking alone. I seek to work with individuals who are motivated and committed to engaging in the therapeutic process, understanding that meaningful change requires effort and active participation. They are seeking support and guidance as they embrace self-development, holistic healing, stress management, and the resolution of generational trauma. Their goal is to reclaim vitality, heal old wounds, and live authentically.
Psychodynamic
With a foundation in psychodynamic training, I support clients in exploring the ways in which past experiences influence present behaviors. Together, we work to develop new patterns that empower you to create the life you envision. My approach is centered on guiding you toward a deeper sense of belonging within yourself, recognizing that meaningful change unfolds through a steady and gradual process.
