Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or just struggling to keep up with work, family and find time to take care of yourself? I'm Karen and I have over 20 years of experience empowering people to overcome obstacles that inhibit growth and fulfillment and manage symptoms of anxiety and depression. I completed my Master's degree in Social Work from New York University, and this year obtained an MBA from Kent State University. I am a certified cognitive behavioral therapist as well as a yoga instructor with specialization in trauma sensitive yoga. I enjoy merging therapy and mindfulness to illicit healing and a sense of balance. I have experience providing in home therapy as well as hospital social work in the medical and acute psychiatric settings. I have always been drawn to helping others so it was no coincidence that I chose the profession of clinical social work. I value relationships and authenticity. It is when we choose to be vulnerable and honest that we create authentic experiences and grow.
Your time and money are valuable so we will set goals early on and be very action oriented to achieve those goals at your pace. Therapy can bring up many feelings and I hope to leave you feeling heard, valued, hopeful and empowered as we navigate your healing together.
I utilize a whole self approach treating mind, body, and spirit coupled with evidence based therapies to help you overcome barriers.
My ability to empathize and help you feel heard while empowering you to make changes at your pace is one of my strengths as a therapist. I offer a safe, nonjudgemental space to learn more about yourself and grow into your authentic self.
