Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and an Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte and have been practicing since 2013. I have diverse experiences providing counseling to individuals, families, children, adolescents and groups in various settings. I worked in hospice as a bereavement counselor, where I gained a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities of grief and loss. I have also worked in a group private practice, focusing on helping clients struggling with depression and anxiety. I currently provide teletherapy counseling to adults aged 18 years and older coping with grief and loss. I also assist clients struggling with various life transitions and relationship challenges.
In our first session together I will focus on building rapport and establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I will ask questions to learn more about you and what challenges have brought you into counseling and what goals you want to work on in our sessions. Together we will create a plan to help you achieve your goals, gain more freedom and self-direction and thrive.
My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and engaging and I am committed to providing empathy, sensitivity, compassion, and respect to my clients, as these are essential to establishing a safe and trusting relationship from which clients can thrive and achieve their goals. I also believe acknowledgement, self-compassion and empathy are amazing tools for healing and growth and anyone can overcome the challenges which they encounter and thrive.
I am honored and privileged to accompany adult clients on their journey through grief and loss. Healing from loss is unique to each person and by providing empathy, sensitivity, compassion, I strive to help clients find healthy ways to grieve and grow from painful experiences and learn to re-engage with life. I also enjoy helping adult clients struggling with various life transitions and relationship challenges. I have an eclectic approach to working with clients to create positive solutions to overcome the challenges which they encounter and learn to thrive by discovering more freedom and self-direction in their life.
I worked in hospice as a bereavement counselor for 4 years and currently seeing clients coping with death of a loved one and other grief and loss experiences.
