Caprice Caldwell
I'm a compassionate, client-centered therapist who believes that you don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be honest, process difficult experiences, and work toward meaningful change. My approach incorporates CBT, motivational interviewing, and person-centered techniques to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. I enjoy working with individuals who are ready to heal, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with who they are.
First session
During your first session, my goal is to get to know you not just your concerns, but you as a person. We'll talk about what brought you therapy, what you're hoping to work on, and what you would like your life to look and feel like moving forward. You'll also have an opportunity to ask questions and begin building a comfortable, genuine therapeutic relationship. I hope you leave your first session feeling heard, respected, and understood. Most importantly, I want you to feel that you have a safe space to be yourself and that you don't have to figure everything out alone. Even if you don't have all the answers yet, I hope you leave with a little more clarity, hope, and confidence about taking the next step.
Strengths
One of the greatest strengths I bring to my work is my life experience the good, the difficult, and everything in between. These experiences have helped me develop compassion, understanding, resilience, and the ability to meet people where they are without judgment. I bring authenticity into my sessions because I understand that life can be complicated, and growth doesn't always happen in straight line. What makes my sessions unique is that i'm not afraid to challenge my clients in a supportive and respectful way. I'll listen and validate your experiences, but i'll also encourage you to look at situations from different perspective, recognize patterns, and step outside of your comfort zone when you're ready. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself while also feeling encouraged to grow, heal, and make meaningful changes.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what their next chapter looks like. I enjoy working with individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, grief, or the effects of past experiences. My clients don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. They simply need to be willing to be honest, explore themselves, and take steps toward change. I work well with clients who want a therapist who will listen and support them, but who will also respectfully challenge them when it's helpful. Together, we can explore what's holding you back, recognize your strengths, and work toward becoming more confident and intentional about the life you want.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they may be influencing your feelings and choices, and work toward healthier ways of thinking and responding. I also incorporate practical CBT tools that clients can use in their everyday lives not just during therapy sessions. My goal is to help you gain greater awareness, challenge thoughts that may be holding you back, and feel more confident in how you navigate life's challenges.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore what they truly want for themselves and identify the motivation behind making changes. Rather than telling you what you should do, I'll work with you to explore your own reasons for change, recognize what may be getting in the way, and build on the strengths you already have. I use a supportive but honest approach that allows you to work through uncertainty while encouraging you to take meaningful steps toward your goals.
Interpersonal
I use Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to help clients understand how their relationships and life experiences can impact their emotions and overall well-being. We may explore communication patterns, relationship conflicts, grief, major life changes, or difficulties connecting with others. Together, we'll work on expressing your needs, strengthening your relationships, setting healthier boundaries, and developing more effective ways to navigate interpersonal challenges.
