New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals find healing, balance, and growth in their lives. I specialize in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR, while also offering faith-based counseling for those who wish to integrate their spiritual values. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward lasting change.
Beginning therapy can feel both hopeful and overwhelming, and I want you to know that our first session will be a supportive and welcoming space where you can feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and confident about the process moving forward. During our first meeting, I’ll take some time to get to know you—your background, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you’d like to work on. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, your strengths, and your goals so we can create a clear direction for our work together. If you’re not sure exactly what you want yet, that’s completely okay; we’ll figure it out together. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask me questions about how therapy works, what to expect from different approaches I use (such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, or Christian counseling if desired), and how we might tailor sessions to best fit your needs. I’ll explain my counseling style and what it looks like to collaborate as a team—you bring your experiences and insight, and I bring tools and strategies to help us move forward. The first session is also about helping you feel more at ease. You don’t have to share your full life story all at once; we can start wherever feels comfortable for you. Some clients choose to dive right into their main concern, while others take time to build trust and get used to the process. Either way, you set the pace. By the end of our first session, we’ll have a plan that includes your goals for therapy, the approaches we may use, and next steps. You should leave with a sense of direction and reassurance that you’re not alone in this journey. Therapy is a partnership, and together we’ll build a space where healing, growth, and lasting change can happen.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to blend evidence-based approaches with compassion and flexibility, tailoring therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR to provide practical tools for immediate relief, while also addressing deeper patterns and past experiences for long-term growth. For clients who wish, I can integrate faith-based counseling to align healing with spiritual values. What stands out most in my approach is creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel both understood and empowered to make meaningful, lasting change.
My ideal clients are individuals who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or past experiences and are motivated to create meaningful change in their lives. I work best with people who are open to learning new skills, exploring healthier ways of thinking and coping, and who want to improve their relationships with themselves and others. Whether seeking practical tools, trauma healing, or faith-based support, I partner with clients who are ready to take steps toward growth and well-being.
I will use CBT in practice by helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, replacing them with more balanced and realistic perspectives. Together, we will develop coping strategies and practice behavioral changes that support healthier emotions and improved daily functioning.
I will use EMDR in practice by guiding clients through bilateral stimulation while they process distressing memories in a safe and structured way. This helps reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic experiences and allows clients to form more adaptive beliefs about themselves and their past.
I will use Christian counseling in practice by integrating faith-based principles with evidence-based approaches to support clients in aligning their healing with their spiritual beliefs. This allows clients to draw strength from scripture, prayer, and their relationship with God while working toward emotional and relational well-being.
I will use DBT in practice by teaching clients skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills will help clients manage intense emotions, build healthier relationships, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I will use ACT in practice by helping clients notice and accept difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them control their behavior. Together, we will focus on clarifying values and taking committed actions that move them toward a meaningful and fulfilling life.
