Hello! I am an LCSW based in Kentucky that serves Tennessee, Indiana, and Kentucky clients through telehealth. I have been a counselor for 10 years. I attended UTK in Knoxville Tennessee. I am an Integrative, Humanistic therapist that emphasizes positive psychology in my practice. I use a client centered, strengths based, solution focused approach. My goal is always to support you in moving toward your personal goals in ways that feel comfortable & accessible to you. Whether the issue is anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, poor coping skills, or phase of life issues, my approach is based in genuine support & kind, honest feedback.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. I will work to hear your story and to answer any questions that you might have for me. If we both feel that we are a good fir then we will move into goal setting at the end of session which will help me create a map for us to work toward your goals in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love what I do and I truly believe that everyone has the power to increase their life satisfaction and to move more fully into the person they want to be. One of my favorite quotes is a Native American saying that “Everything in life comes to us as a teacher, pay attention”. This sums up my philosophy about therapy - everything that happens to us can teach us more about ourselves and more about this amazing world we live in - working with people to help them find these lessons amid adversity is my great honor.

My treatment methods

Integrative

I use a client centered, strengths based approach. My goal is always to support you in moving toward your personal goals in ways that feel comfortable & accessible to you. Whether the issue is anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, poor coping skills, or phase of life issues, my approach is based in genuine support & kind, honest feedback. I have trained in ACT, CBT, EMDR, and Motivational Interviewing. I use an integrative mix of approaches that pull from all of these different treatment modalities.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I work to meet each person where they are and to work with them from a strengths based, solution focused approach using positive psychology and compassionate support.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will work to identify and understand what thoughts and triggers are causing you to have behaviors, emotional responses, and reactions that you don't like; then we will work to create new ways of thinking and how to focus on responding responding vs reacting to difficult situations.

Compassion Focused

All of my approaches are based in compassion and support. I place a strong emphasis on all people's inherent self-worth and focus on meeting each person where they are. We all have a history and reasons why we are like we are - my practice is free from judgement and criticism and all approaches are strengths based.

Grief Therapy

I have worked with clients experiencing grief throughout my career and it is an area that is close to my heart. I have been trained in Grief specific approaches and am honored when people trust me to help them with this delicate work.
