Welcome! I'm Natalie, and I treat adults with a wide range of mental and emotional concerns. I'm particularly passionate about working with people struggling with infertility, insomnia, grief, and religious trauma. As a therapist, I see myself as having two boxes of tools at my disposal. The first box includes structured, often short-term treatments to address specific sets of symptoms. The second box holds more open-ended, exploratory methods that help get at the deeper questions we face as humans. As I come to learn what connects with you, you might find I use a lot of analogies, quotes, and references. Clients often describe me as very easy to talk to.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I'll ask lots of questions to get to know you, your life, and your history. I'll ask you to tell me about your symptoms and goals. Having worked through my own challenges, I know how important it is to be seen clearly and respected unconditionally. We'll also discuss which treatment approaches might best meet your needs. My goal is to ensure that, by the end of the first session, your questions are answered and that you feel comfortable and hopeful moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a licensed mental health counselor, I bring expertise related to therapy, and I recognize you as the expert on your own life. Also, because I have lived experience in many of the areas I treat, the level of understanding that I can provide for certain stressors goes beyond standard therapeutic empathy. If you're waiting on day 5 results from an egg retrieval, for example, I know what that means—you won't need to explain attrition rates to me. I strive to provide therapy that works, which includes using practical, evidence-based treatments like EMDR, PGDT, and CBT-I to help with symptom relief, as well as taking an intuitive approach drawing from ACT, existential therapy, narrative therapy, and solutions-focused therapy. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about these different modalities.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Maybe you're a gifted kid who burned out after graduation. Or maybe you're still being triggered by trauma or loss that took place more than half your life ago. Maybe your whole world came crashing down along with your belief system, or maybe you never really get a break from the racing thoughts and worries. It seems like no one fully gets what's going on with you, and maybe you don't understand it, either. There are problems you can't seem to fix, accept, or make meaning of. Regardless, you know life can be better than this, and you're tired of waiting for it to change. Whether you're facing trauma, anxiety, burnout, depression, or infertility and perinatal concerns, you deserve contentment—and a way forward. You're capable of finding that path forward, and you don’t have to seek it alone. In therapy, my role is to walk with you.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is a mindfulness-based therapy that helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, while committing to actions that align with their core personal values to build a richer, more meaningful life, improving overall psychological flexibility and well-being. Instead of trying to change or eliminate negative experiences, ACT teaches skills to relate differently to them, fostering presence and purposeful living, and is effective for anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and stress.

Existential

Existential therapy is a philosophically based, client-centered approach to psychotherapy that helps individuals confront the core anxieties of human existence—death, freedom, isolation, and meaninglessness—to live more authentically. It focuses on fostering self-awareness, personal responsibility, and finding personal meaning.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a psychotherapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences by reprocessing disturbing memories, often using guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation (like tapping) while focusing on the memory, which reduces its emotional charge and allows normal healing to resume.

Narrative

Narrative therapy is a collaborative approach that helps people re-author their life stories, viewing themselves as separate from their problems, which are seen as external forces rather than inherent traits.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a structured, short-term, and highly effective, evidence-based program designed to treat chronic sleep issues without medication. It works by identifying and changing thoughts and habits that cause or worsen sleep problems, serving as the first-line, long-term solution for insomnia.
