We all need support in dealing with life's challenges, but sometimes just asking for help can feel as overwhelming as the problems for which we are seeking support. I provide a holistic approach to therapy by incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with other therapeutic modalities, including Brainspotting (which is a tool to access neurobiological trauma experiences that are stored deep within the subcortical brain). Building and practicing coping skills is a vital part of therapy with me. Whether you are looking to learn new ways of dealing with behavioral, emotional, or relationship patterns, I offer my clients a compassionate, supportive, yet challenging environment in which to achieve their full potential. I am committed to providing a safe therapeutic environment for you to learn to use healthy coping strategies to manage the challenges of daily life.
The initial session is designed to gather information on your current concerns and for you to share your history and experiences with me. During this session, as your therapist, I will listen, develop a therapeutic plan, set therapy goals, and begin to implement strategies and tools for you to use outside of therapy. I may also assign homework. A major component to therapy is a healthy and supportive therapeutic relationship between you and the therapist. This initial session is set up for you to ask questions and begin to gain trust of our therapeutic relationship.
With over 21 years of counseling experience, I believe my greatest strength is in my openness to each client's unique experiences and needs. I believe in treating everyone with compassion and understanding. Any change that occurs in therapy is because the client is seeking to fulfill a personal goal for themselves. I will support, encourage, give perspective, hold client accountable with homework, and help the client work towards becoming the best version of themselves, according to the goals that client sets for themself!
I provide counseling services to individuals and couples. My specialties include working with adults to manage Depression, Anxiety, Anger, and Relationship issues. I have a passion for helping people learn the skills to live the life they truly desire. As a former middle school counselor and a current stepmom, I understand the intricacies of life experiences with teenagers. While I am not currently accepting teenage clients, I am proficient in helping adults (in nuclear or blended families) navigate the unique challenges that occur during this season of life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT because the premise is our "thoughts/beliefs" create our "feelings" which displays our "actions/reactions." If a client can learn to identify their "thought" that is creating negative or unhelpful feelings, then they can shift their thoughts to experience new/positive feelings and outcomes.
Couples Counseling
I work with couples as a neutral resource to help them improve communication skills and other barriers to an unhealthy relationship dynamic.
Psychoeducation
Using talk therapy to learn about client's internal thoughts and experiences, I help give the client new perspectives to assess their current situations. In addition, these conversations include psychoeducation to create self-awareness, learn coping skills, and build resilience through practice and implementation.
Brainspotting
I recently completed Level 1 training into helping clients with "stuck" trauma deep within the brain. This model is a gentle approach that includes a variety of techniques for processing.

She is solution minded. Inquired about the past, causing problems in the present and how to address. Exactly what I was hoping for. Will book again.

I felt heard, seen, understood, and supported! I left feeling lighter and like I had actionable steps to start working on in my first session.

I’m really grateful for the way Bree balances warmth with candor. She quickly made me feel safe to be vulnerable and offered solutions/ suggestions for me implement and work on. That’s what I needed most personally. It’s not easy to do the work sometimes but her gentle accountability is what’s really helped me move the needle forward in a positive way.
