New to Grow
I believe that each of the clients I meet with is the expert on their own life. My job is to help is to help you recognize patterns of behavior that are no longer serving you, challenge you by asking questions that help you to see things from a new perspective, and explore new coping strategies that empower you to take what we do together in therapy and utilize in other parts of your life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be spent getting to know each other- I want to know about your strengths, your passions, your goals, and what brought you to therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I work from a person centered approach and that means that I believe our relationship is the foundation of change. The way you present in therapy gives me some insight into how you might present in other aspects of your life. We will explore your past experiences and understand how they helped you to become the person today you are today, without judgement.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work primarily with teenagers and young adults that need support through difficult transitions, are navigating changes in their mental health, or feel like something is "off" but may not be able to put it into words. I have the most experiencing working with anxiety, depression, and self esteem.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I believe that people get "stuck" when they have fixed beliefs, make negative assumptions, or get stuck in their unique perspective. All of these are based on the past- I want to find a way to gently challenge clients to make positive change in their lives.
