New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor who believes in creating a supportive, respectful space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. I approach therapy from a humanistic, client-centered perspective and view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process in which clients are the experts in their own lives. I work with individuals navigating stress, life transitions, trauma, and challenges related to identity, relationships, and meaning. While my foundation is person-centered, I take an eclectic approach, drawing from evidence-based practices and adapting interventions to meet each client’s unique needs, goals, and pace. My role is to offer support, insight, and practical tools while honoring each client’s autonomy and lived experience.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you would like to address, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I will also review important information about confidentiality, consent, and the therapy process, and you are encouraged to ask questions at any point. My goal in the first session is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood, while beginning to collaboratively identify how therapy can best support your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
A core strength I bring to therapy is showing up with genuine care, patience, and persistence. I strive to create a space where clients feel accepted as they are, supported through difficulty, and encouraged at their own pace.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to work with adolescents and adults ages 14 and older who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, trauma, obsessessive compulsive disorder (OCD), functional neurological disorder (FND), life transitions, and challenges related to self-esteem. I often work with clients who are seeking greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and practical strategies to manage distress and improve daily functioning. While these areas represent common focuses in my work, they are not exhaustive. I value meeting clients where they are and collaborating to identify goals that feel meaningful and attainable.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered (Rogerian) therapy and informed by an eclectic framework. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and I view therapy as a collaborative process built on empathy, authenticity, and mutual respect. From a humanistic perspective, I prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore their experiences. While my foundation is person-centered, I adapt therapeutic strategies to meet the unique needs, goals, and preferences of each client. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy; instead, I tailor my approach to support each client’s growth in a way that feels meaningful, respectful, and aligned with their values.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and examine patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to distress. Interventions are applied collaboratively and flexibly, with an emphasis on practical strategies that align with the client’s goals and lived experience.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use CPT to help clients explore and challenge unhelpful beliefs related to trauma that may be interfering with recovery. The work is structured yet collaborative, supporting clients in developing more balanced and self-compassionate perspectives.
EMDR
I use EMDR to support clients in processing distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to impact their present functioning. The approach is paced collaboratively, prioritizing safety, stabilization, and the client’s readiness throughout the process.
