I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in four states: Arizona, California, South Carolina, and Virginia, and I offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. My experience as a therapist includes several mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADD/ADHD. I provide a welcoming, neutral space to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by listening to concerns and collaborating with clients to customize a treatment plan. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and help propel you to where you want to be in all areas of life. My promise to you is to be accountable and accessible and to create a welcoming therapeutic environment for all identities and ethnicities.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. Your first sessions with me will generally last between 53-60 minutes and involve completing a biopsychosocial assessment. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I have specific experience treating anxiety, depression and trauma. I use a client-centered approach and encourage clients to practice skills learned during each session outside of session.
I love working with adult professionals from diverse backgrounds who are open to gaining additional insight into their experiences. I enjoy clients who are eager to improve and learn new skills but don't yet have the necessary tools to make this goal a reality. They may often feel stuck, overwhelmed, hopeless, at times, and anxious.
I have several years of experience using CBT to assist patients with identifying and reframing unhelpful thinking patterns that impact their feelings and behaviors.
I have been EMDR trained and have been practicing EMDR for 5 years. Before any trauma processing, patients will learn emotional regulation techniques.
I have completed several DBT trainings and use it to help patients learn mindfulness techniques, interpersonal effectiveness skills, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills.
