I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), NCC, and EMDR-trained therapist who works with children, adolescents, and adults in both English and Spanish. I provide a compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed space to help clients navigate anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and identity concerns. My approach integrates various therapeutic interventions (CBT, ACT, EMDR) and even creative interventions, such as art and play, to support healing, resilience, and meaningful growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a safe, supportive space where you can share at your own pace. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have, while also reviewing your background and strengths. Together, we’ll begin developing a plan that feels right for you, and you’ll leave with a sense of clarity, validation, and next steps.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my approach apart is that I meet each client with compassion, cultural humility, and flexibility. I use evidence-based methods such as EMDR, CBT, and ACT, while also integrating creative interventions like art and play to support expression, regulation, and healing—especially for children and clients who find traditional talk therapy challenging. I also offer faith-based counseling when desired and provide services in both English and Spanish. Therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, and values, with a focus on empowerment, emotional safety, and practical tools you can use in daily life.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to support children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and adjustment challenges. I work especially well with individuals and families navigating trauma (including immigration, physical, and sexual trauma), neurodivergence such as autism and ADHD, and stress related to relationships, parenting, or identity. I am a good fit for clients who are seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approach, and who want practical tools, emotional healing, and meaningful growth in a supportive environment.
EMDR
I am EMDR-trained and use this approach with children, adolescents, and adults to help process trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. Before beginning EMDR, I carefully assess each client’s readiness, including screening for dissociation, and spend time building grounding, regulation, and stabilization skills. This ensures clients feel safe, supported, and prepared before moving into trauma processing. EMDR is always paced collaboratively, with a focus on emotional safety, empowerment, and lasting healing.
Adlerian
I use an Adlerian approach to help clients understand how early life experiences, family dynamics, and personal beliefs shape current patterns in relationships, emotions, and behavior. This method emphasizes encouragement, strengths, and purpose, helping clients build insight into their lifestyle and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. Adlerian therapy is collaborative and empowering, supporting clients in creating meaningful goals, increasing confidence, and fostering a stronger sense of belonging.
Christian Counseling
In my experience with Christian Counseling, I use a treatment method that blends mental health support with spiritual guidance. As a mental health counselor, I integrate Christian principles and values into therapy to help individuals facing various mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. This approach recognizes the importance of both mental and spiritual well-being. For those who have experienced spiritual trauma, the counseling process involves addressing and healing from any hurtful experiences related to their faith. We explore how faith can be a source of strength and comfort. By combining psychological techniques with Christian principles, I aim to provide a supportive and holistic approach to help individuals navigate their mental health challenges while drawing on their faith for resilience and healing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that impact emotions and behaviors. Through a collaborative and practical approach, clients learn skills to manage anxiety, improve mood, and respond more effectively to stressors. CBT is structured yet flexible, focusing on building coping strategies and tools that clients can apply in everyday life to create lasting, positive change.
Play Therapy
In my therapeutic practice, I seamlessly integrate play and sand therapy, drawing on extensive experience to create a dynamic and effective approach, particularly when working with children and adolescents. Play therapy involves utilizing various materials such as toys, games, and art supplies to provide a safe and engaging space for non-verbal expression, ideal for individuals who may struggle with verbal articulation. The addition of sand therapy introduces a unique and symbolic element, allowing clients to manipulate the sand and use miniature figures or symbols to represent and process complex feelings associated with trauma, anxiety, or social difficulties. This combined approach not only facilitates communication but also supports the exploration of challenging situations in a manner that feels natural and comfortable. Play and sand therapy empower clients to build trust, enhance self-expression, and develop coping skills within a supportive therapeutic environment.
