New to Grow
I am a warm, compassionate and experienced therapist who believes that feeling truly understood is an important part of healing. After more than 25 years in the mental health field, I have learned that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I take the time to understand and individual's unique experiences, strengths, relationships and the things that may be keeping you stuck. I work collaboratively ( in partnership) with my clients focusing on creating a safe space where you can be honest, and vulnerable without fear of judgment. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a little humor to our work together. I especially enjoy working with people with who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, grief , relationship concerns, or periods of uncertainty and change. Wherever you are in your journey, I will meet you there with compassion and respect. I believe that growth doesn't require having everything figured out. Sometimes it begins with having a safe space to pause, feel understood, and explore what comes next
The first session is an opportunity to for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. You don't need to have everything figured out, and you don't need to prepare a perfect explanation of what's going on. We will take our time and start wherever feels most comfortable to you I will ask questions about you have been experiencing, what you are hoping will change what has or has not been helpful in the past. I will also share a little about how I work and invite you to ask any questions you may have Most importantly, the first season is about beginning to build a relationship and deciding together what you need from therapy. You are welcome to be yourself and there is no expectation that you have to tell me everything right away My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, understood and with a clearer sense of how we can work together
I believe therapy is not about rushing to fix a problem. Sometimes what we need most is someone who is willing to slow down, listen deeply and stay with us in the difficulty places My own life experiences, both the difficult and the meaningful have shaped the way I sit with people. These experiences have taught me that change is rarely a straight line and that people often need to feel understood and accepted before they are ready to consider doing something differently. I tend to be a thoughtful, calm presence in the therapy room. I am comfortable with silence and don't feel the need to fill every moment with questions or advice. I want to create enough safety and trust for you to explore what is really happening beneath the surface. I don't believe in pushing someone before they feel ready. I want you to experience therapy as a place where you can slow down, be honest, and feel genuinely understood and from that foundation, discover your own capacity for change.
My ideal client is thoughtful, caring and often highly capable people who may be struggling beneath the surface. They may be navigating anxiety, grief, depression, relationship challenges, identity questions or a significant life transitions. Sometimes they simply have a sense that something in their life no longer feels right and want to safe place to explore what comes next I work with adults of all genders and identities. I believe that each person deserves to feel respected, understood and accepted for who they are I work best with individuals who are open to a therapy process that begins with connection and understanding.
I integrate CBT with a relational, trauma-informed approach perspective that allows me to explore not only what a client may be thinking but also why certain patterns developed and how they may have served an important purpose earlier in life. My goal is to help individuals develop practical skills while also building greater self understanding and confidence in their ability to navigate life's challenges
I help clients understand how past relationships and life experiences can shape how they connect with others today. My goal is help clients feel more secure, connected and confident in their relationships
I help clients develop a kinder and more understanding relationship with themselves especially when they are struggling with self criticism, shame or feeling like they are not doing enough. My goal is to help clients replace self criticism with greater self compassion and confidence while still supporting meaningful growth and change
