In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During your first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding your unique story, experiences, and goals. I will ask questions about your background, current challenges, cultural identity, and spiritual or faith-based beliefs to gain a full picture of your needs. Together, we will explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve, helping us identify clear, realistic goals for our work together. I will also explain my approach, including the evidence-based strategies and faith-integrated or culturally responsive methods I may use, and answer any questions you have about the process. Our first session is an opportunity for you to share what matters most to you, to discuss any concerns, and to begin building a safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship. By the end of the session, you will have a sense of what our work together will look like and feel confident about the next steps in your healing journey.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my therapeutic approach apart is the intentional integration of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and spiritual awareness. I prioritize creating a safe, collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected, and I tailor evidence-based interventions—such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or Christian counseling—to each client’s unique cultural, spiritual, and lived experience. I am deeply attuned to the impact of intergenerational, systemic, and community trauma, and I work alongside clients to build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and foster emotional regulation. My approach balances clinical expertise with relational sensitivity, honoring both the psychological and spiritual dimensions of healing. Clients often note that they feel understood, empowered, and supported in a way that promotes meaningful growth, self-awareness, and long-term well-being.

My ideal therapy clients are individuals or families seeking a trauma-informed, culturally and spiritually aware approach to mental health care. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the lingering effects of intergenerational and systemic trauma. They value a collaborative therapeutic relationship and are motivated to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors within the context of their cultural identity, family systems, and spiritual or faith-based beliefs. Clients often come with goals such as: • Developing practical coping skills and strategies for emotional regulation • Processing and healing from past trauma or adverse life experiences • Strengthening resilience, self-esteem, and self-efficacy • Improving communication and relationships within family, community, or faith-based settings • Addressing unhelpful thought patterns or behaviors through evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, or EMDR • Integrating their faith and spirituality into their healing process in meaningful ways • Achieving a sense of psychological and spiritual balance and well-being They are open to exploring personal growth and transformation in a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environment. My clients are committed to building a life that aligns with their values, strengthens their inner resources, and fosters long-term emotional, relational, and spiritual health.
