(she/her)
Hi, I am Monica, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in practice since 2017. I have worked with addictions, marriages, families, mental health disorders and I specialize in brief solution-focused therapy as well as existential therapy that explores man's search for meaning through one's suffering.
In our first session, we will have an introductory period and a brief history revisitation. Then we will dive into specific challenges that you are currently facing or ones that have plagued you for years.
I feel I am very good at organizing ideas, asking pertinent questions, assessing for current and past issues as well as brainstorming for possible solutions and then reconvening to assess outcomes.
I love working with clients of all ages to include children, teens, young adults, families, couples as well as those in their twilight years. I have also had experience working with groups to include anger management, divorce support, substance abuse as well as TFCBT (trauma).
I identify as
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have used this method previously to assist clients in brainstorming and coming up with their issues as well as solutions to those issues with critiquing the various outcomes for performance-based measures.
Existential
It is my belief that people find meaning through their suffering and trials and that they give life meaning and purpose. I assist my clients in understanding why they are suffering and how to best go about finding meaning while alleviating as many negative symptoms as possible.
