I am a Licensed Professional Counselor born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. I have been active in the field for over 10 years. I received my Masters in Community Psychology from Alverno College in Wisconsin. I've been a helping professional since a teen, and continue to strive to improve the lives of others. I'm a witty and humorous individual who enjoys the intangible things in life. My hope is to provide a therapeutic experience that is effective for growth and healing.
The best approach is tailored to meet the needs of the client and is created to allow comfort in a therapeutic setting. This allows for effectiveness and progress. In our first session you can expect to discuss presenting issues as well as dynamics that has led to current state. We will discuss personal and familial history, concerns, and treatment goals. Collectively, a treatment plan will be created to aide in meeting treatment outcomes.
What makes me 1 of 1 is my approach. I believe in creating a space that is safe and inviting. I meet clients where they are and guide clients to becoming who they want to be. Therapy requires vulnerability and transparency, which both can appear to be overwhelming and intimidating. However, my approach as a clinician is to normalize thoughts and emotions in a healthy way and aide in improved quality of life.
As a therapist it is important to be relational, flexible, empathic, yet effective. My style of counseling is meeting clients where they are and fostering the ability to grow into their best selves. My approach is inviting and interactive. I believe in challenging clients if need be to establish psychoeducation, responsibility and accountability with respect and a compassionate delivery.
