Tiffany Zwahlen

LCMHC5 years of experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) with master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. I specialize in neurodivergence, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as anxiety, depression, and executive functioning challenges. I am licensed in Utah, Florida, Nevada, and New Mexico and hold additional certifications in ADHD and autism-related clinical care. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and neurodivergent-affirming. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help clients better understand themselves, build practical skills, and improve emotional regulation.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults with executive functioning, task initiation, emotional regulation, sensory processing, burnout, and the challenges of navigating a world that may not always accommodate their needs.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults with executive functioning, task initiation, emotional regulation, sensory processing, burnout, and the challenges of navigating a world that may not always accommodate their needs. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel understood, accepted, and empowered to embrace their authentic selves. My goal is to help clients build on their strengths, develop individualized strategies that work with their brains rather than against them, and create meaningful, sustainable changes that improve their quality of life.

First session

Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive space where they can feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, discuss what brings them to therapy, and explore their concerns, strengths, and goals. I want clients to feel heard and understood while beginning to identify areas where therapy may help. We will work together to develop a direction for treatment that reflects their individual needs and priorities. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. My goal is for clients to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the work ahead.

Strengths

I bring a compassionate, practical, and individualized approach to therapy. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe being themselves, without judgment or pressure to fit into someone else's expectations. One of my strengths is helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and individual needs while recognizing the strengths they already possess. I draw on evidence-based approaches and tailor strategies to each client's experiences, abilities, and goals.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients are adults, particularly those with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other neurodivergent experiences, who want to better understand themselves and navigate life in ways that feel more manageable and authentic. They may struggle with executive functioning, emotional regulation, anxiety, burnout, or feeling misunderstood. Many may have spent years masking their needs, feeling different, or believing they should be able to do things that seem easier for others. My goal is to help clients build self-understanding, recognize their strengths, develop skills that work for them, and create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and aligned with who they are.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing practical strategies for navigating everyday challenges. I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support emotional regulation, manage stress, and respond to difficult situations with greater confidence. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build self-awareness, make room for difficult thoughts and emotions, and take meaningful steps toward what matters most to them. My approach is warm, collaborative, and neurodivergent-affirming. I believe in working with your brain rather than against it, building on your strengths, and finding practical tools that fit your unique needs and everyday life. Our focus is on developing skills that help you feel more capable, understood, and empowered to be yourself.
