We all possess resilience and strength to achieve healing and personal growth. It is my privilege to empower clients to navigate life’s challenges and move toward joy through a client-centered therapy approach. I have experience working in trauma hospital acute care and emergency department settings, and I specialize in processing trauma for medical workers, EMS, and fire, along with clients and their caregivers who have been impacted by medical issues. My personality is friendly and down-to-earth, and in my personal life I enjoy punk shows, cemeteries, and international travel. I look forward to tailoring my approach to meet your specific needs.
I utilize a strength-based perspective, direct communication, and touch of humor to assist clients in reaching their therapeutic goals. I practice through a lens of cultural humility and strive to create a welcoming therapeutic space that acknowledges systemic oppression's impact on mental health. My hope is for clients to leave session feeling more grounded than when they arrived.
I often utilize emotional support, increasing coping skills, and gentle guidance through interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) modalities. I’m currently training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) able to offer that intervention, as well.
I offer clients both psychodynamic and behavioral approaches in order to address issues including depression, anxiety, concerns with substance use, caregiver fatigue, coping with illness, grief, and trauma.
