I’m a compassionate, direct therapist licensed in VA, MD, DC, and TX, supporting students, working professionals, and women of color navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationships, and life transitions. I offer a culturally aware, supportive space while guiding you toward real change—building coping skills, improving focus, and strengthening self-worth so you can move through life with clarity and confidence daily and purpose.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel a little nerve-wracking and that’s completely okay. Some people come in ready to talk, others need time to open up. I meet you wherever you are. I’ll gently guide the session so you’re not left wondering what to say, while still giving you space to share at your own pace. Together, we’ll explore what’s been going on and what you’re hoping for no pressure, no judgment, just support.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

If you’re tired of overthinking, feeling stuck, or doing everything for everyone else this is where that changes. I work with high-achieving students, professionals, and women of color who are ready for real results not just surface-level conversations. My approach is direct, strategic, and supportive. I’ll challenge you, hold you accountable, and give you the tools to actually move forward. Using CBT, ADHD-focused strategies, and nervous system regulation, I help you reduce anxiety, improve focus, set boundaries, and build confidence in your decisions. This is goal-oriented work that many clients see meaningful change within a year and leave with the clarity and skills to sustain it long-term

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with students, working professionals, and women of color who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or ready for change. My ideal clients are open to growth, want practical tools, and are willing to be challenged. They may struggle with anxiety, ADHD, boundaries, or self-worth, and are ready to build confidence, clarity, and healthier patterns in their daily lives moving forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify patterns that keep you stuck, challenge unhelpful thinking, and build practical strategies to help you feel more in control. The goal is real, lasting change—not just temporary relief.

Gestalt

I incorporate Gestalt therapy to help you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns in the present moment. We focus on what’s happening “right now” so you can better understand yourself and how you show up in relationships. This awareness helps you make more intentional choices and feel more grounded in who you are.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you focus on what’s working and how to create meaningful change quickly. Instead of staying stuck in the problem, we identify your strengths, set clear goals, and build practical steps forward. This approach is empowering, goal-oriented, and designed to help you see progress in a shorter amount of time.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I provide culturally sensitive therapy that honors your background, identity, and lived experiences. I understand how culture, family, and societal expectations can shape your mental health, and I create a space where you feel seen and respected. Together, we work in a way that aligns with your values while supporting your growth and well-being.

Grief Therapy

I provide grief therapy to support you through loss at your own pace, without pressure to “move on” quickly. We create space to process your emotions, understand your experience, and find ways to cope while honoring what you’ve lost. My goal is to help you navigate grief with support, compassion, and a sense of stability over time.

Dr. Tiara is kind, but every time we talked about anything from the start of the first session, she recommended I see someone else. I'm not sure what she specializes in, but she couldn't help me with anything and seemed to simply not want to treat me from our very first session. She wasted both our time.
